Description
1st Floor Apt – Walk to DowntownYou will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place! It’s a small one-bedroom with all the essentials, just a 10-minute walk from downtown. There’s a tiny kitchen that is fully equipped. The spacious bathroom has a full-size tub.The bedroom is cozy with a queen-size bed and smart TV. The living/dining has a sofa, smart TV, dining table, and the fastest internet available in town.Originally built in the late 1800’s as the home of Phineas Adams with the hustle and bustle of horse-drawn buggies up and down the street, the building now has a new life as a residential apartment building with seven units. This unit has its own private entrance in the back of the building. It’s a first floor apartment, but you will need to climb a few stairs. You’ll need to walk around the exterior of the building to the main entrance to use the mailboxes and basement laundry. There’s no direct access to the interior hallway from this apartmentThe apartment has modern electrical, new appliances, and the fastest internet available in Manchester. A propane heater is located in the living room and window A/C unit is available June-September. Both are rated for a space twice this size, but the bedroom gets chilly with the door closed, and the AC will struggle to cool the entire apartment on the hottest days. The apartment is small, and is most comfortable for 1-2 people. The tiny kitchen/living/dining area contains just the basics. The queen-size bed has a new, top-rated memory foam mattress.Guests are welcome to use the outdoor seating area on the front porch. One washer and dryer are located in the basement, and available for your use anytime. However, the local laundromat is usually a faster and more convenient option since there is no direct access to the basement from this unit. You can pay using the Pay Range App, or with quarters. Just plan to bring your own, the change machine does not work.Smoking is not allowed in any of the units, or within 10 feet of open doors or windows. We love dogs, but please keep them off of beds and furniture. Dogs must be leashed in the common areas, and always remember to clean up after your dog.One car may be parked in the building lot. Additional vehicles must be parked on the street. Street parking is free on the street in front of the house, and on many of the surrounding streets. You may find you need to walk a few blocks, especially in the evening and summer months. This is a full-occupied building with 7 units. We love the character of this old Victorian building, but expect to find squeaky floors, sticky doors, and some noise from the other units. Scott & Michelle manage the short-term apartments upstairs. Long-term tenants are handled by Blue Door Living.Emergency maintenance requests will be handled as soon as possible. We have a maintenance team that responds to most non-emergency requests within 48 hours during the work week, 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.Manchester hosts a number of festivals and road races throughout the summer & fall. The roads surrounding the apartment are often closed for these events, but you can exit/enter the parking area through the alleyway behind the house.Paving and utility work is planned for our street and the surrounding streets summer of 2023 & 2024. Expect road closures and delays.Located just steps from Elm Street, the apartment is a 5-10 minute walk from many bars and restaurants. A popular pizza shop is across the street, and a Rite Aid is just 1 block away. Our block isn’t the prettiest, but it’s in a good neighborhood nestled between downtown and Manchester’s beautiful North End. You’ll find the parking lot of a medical building on one side of the house, and old apartment building on the other. A YWCA home is located across the street. We’ve never had any issues, but this is a busy area with all the hustle and bustle of downtown. It’s not a quiet, residential neighborhood.
