Hi – Thanks for your interest in our place. We purchased this cabin to explore the many adventures that nature and the Shenandoah region have to offer. The cabin is perched up on a hill to provide beautiful mountain views of Shenandoah National Park right from the deck. In the evening, starry night skies become your canopy as you relax around the firepit with family and friends. Shenandoah River Outfitters, Bealers Ferry Fishing Pond, and public river access at Bealers Ferry Boat Launch are all within a mile of the property as well as the George Washington National Forest which the property adjoins. Downtown Luray is just 15 minutes away where you will find Luray Caverns, cold beverages at Hawksbill Brewing Company, and many other shops, restaurants, and attractions. River Hill Distillery, Wisteria Farm and Vineyard, and Castle Vineyards are a short drive away as is golfing, horseback riding, museums, and hiking galore. Thornton Gap Entrance of Shenandoah National Park is just 19 miles away, but you can always enjoy a view of the park right from the deck of the cabin. AWD or 4X4 is recommended. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However, there are many side roads that are gravel or hard packed dirt surfaces. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. Most front wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing the property from these roads if you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains.
