The ski area is approximately 1.3 miles down the road if you prefer to drive. Ski rentals and lift tickets need to be purchased in advance. Be sure to get your snow tube tickets as soon as they come available as they sell out fast.Hiking: There are 30 miles of hiking trails for all levels on the mountain. There is even one that travels through the copse of trees across from the cabin! Trails are marked with picture signs of hikers. If you follow the trail, one half mile down the road, you will find The Nature Foundation at Wintergreen. Every Saturday a hike is lead from there.Swimming: Chestnut Springs outdoor swimming pool is 1.75 miles from the cabin and is open from Memorial day through Labor day. There is also an outdoor pool at Stoney Creek available for your use. (Hours might be restricted due to covid).Golf: Stoney Creek, Old Trail, Poplar Grove, Orchard Creek, and Swannanoa. (fees)Other activities: Tennis (fee), spa (fee), Sherando Lake (fee), and Lake Monocan (fee).
