Description
Built in 1904 as Boulder’s first apartment building this lovely one story duplex is registered as a historic landmark. Lovingly restored to preserve it’s charm and character, the apartment sleeps 2 comfortably in a queen bed in the bedroom, with a trundle bed that turns into 2 twin beds in the curtained alcove that can serve as a child’s bedroom. A fully equipped eat-in kitchen features a gas stove, new Energy Star fridge, microwave, dishes and quality cookware. A stacking washer dryer is also provided. Internet Wifi is provided, and Hi-definition reception of digital channels from my roof antenna. You can catch the news, PBS and basic channels on a 44 inch flat screen TV. The backyard patio has a picnic table and umbrella, ideal for meals al fresco and small gatherings. Parking passes are required for on- street parking, and 2 are provided. Super-efficient and quiet Panasonic window air conditioners are in each bedroom, as well as a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Take your morning coffee on the screened in back porch where you can watch the birds at the feeder and listen to the soft burble of the fountain. Walk to grocery shop: two Whole Foods stores are 6 blocks away, as is a Trader Joes. Walk half a block to Frasca Ristorante, one of Colorados finest gourmet dining establishments, or try Pizza Locale for something quick and delicious. Continue up Pearl Steet to the pedestrian mall, only 4 short blocks west! Walk two and half blocks from home and catch a concert at E-town Hall. The CU campus is just up the 17th Steet hill. It’s a nice 10 block walk, and you’re on the beautiful grounds of a world class university—with no parking worries! The historic Whittier neighborhood is a walkers paradise, with lovingly tended gardens, magnificent shade trees and gorgeous Victorian homes. Mork and Mindy’s house is literally around the corner! This is an eco-home: all the appliances in the home are energy-star rated, and all cleaning products and bedding materials are natural. This is a house to retreat to, a place to cook, relax, unwind and home base from for all the scenic drives, and hiking and biking trails that surround Boulder. And don’t forget the Farmers Market in Central park on Saturday mornings! THe best street food in Boulder, and food to inspire you to get back and cook!
