A Stone’s Throw from Lake Superior, the bay and downtown pet friendlyWelcome to A Stone’s Throw, perfectly located only 1 block away from Lake Superior’s agate beach, the sandy shores of the bay and to downtown Grand Marais, Mi. Bring the bikes! Bike up Coast Guard Point, relax on the beach and still have time for day trips out of town. Walking distance to beach, bay and downtown bars. Well behaved dogs are welcome ;)Out the side door of the property is a large deck with a seating for all guests. When it gets close to sunset you can easily walk to the large public deck, to enjoy a beautiful, colorful show in the sky. As night descends some will enjoy hunting fluroscent sodalite-GLOWING- rocks on the beach with UV lights and if the conditions are right, they will also have the opportunity to see a glimpse of the Northern Lights.Four bedooms- all Queen beds, and the master suite as an additional full size futon couch, so easily sleeps 10 persons. Three full bathrooms makes it even betterThere is a fire pit and we offer free wood to burn. There is a propane grill with a back up tank, just in case. There is a good size lawn for games and a bean bag toss is available to use.Grand Marais, MI has several points of interest, including Sable Falls, Au Sable Lake, Pickle Barrel Museum, Post Office Museum, and the Light Keepers House Museum, in addition there is a self guided walking tour of the town. This location is also convenient for day trips into Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Tahquamenon Falls, Oswald Bear Ranch, Kitch-iti-kipi (Michigan’s largest natural freshwater spring), Historic Fayette State Park, and the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, just to name a few.The house includes 2 common areas; one with relaxed seating and one that has a dining table that seats six. The adjacent kitchen has a breakfast bar with 4 high top chairs (close proximity to the dining room table), stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher. Smaller applicances and cooking supplies are provided such as coffee maker, (both Keurig and Mr. Coffee drip), toaster, electric hot water kettle, blender, air popcorn popper, crock pot/slow cooker, pots/pans, silverware, plates, and glassware.Yes there is wi-fi and a smart TV. You can sign in to your Amazon or Netflix, etc. In addition there is a DVD player with a selection of movies.A reasonable amount of paper products and cleaning supplies, including laundry detergent will be made available. Grand Marais does have a small local grocery store, but most guests find it more suitable to bring groceries, especially specific branded items that you will be wanting to enjoy during your stay. It is highly recommended to bring groceries with you on your trip to the U.P.
