Southwest Harbor is a lively little town with some of the islands finest restaurants, galleries and shops as well as a true working waterfront where you can enjoy lobster cruises, sunset sails or take a ferry to one of the neighboring islands. The western areas of Acadia National Park (Echo Lake Beech, Long Pond and dozens of the best hikes and beach trails) are just 10 minutes away and Bar Harbor and the park loop road are 25 minutes drive. Or if you just want a peaceful retreat, you can work remotely with a sparkling view out your window. Explore the shore on a leisurely stroll. Kayak in the peaceful cove, or paddle further out to the open ocean on an adventurous whim. Then return to your private hideaway. There’s plenty to do inside, as well, with ping pong, games, puzzles, and a lovely screened-in porch that maximizes that spectacular view in comfort.
