Description
Proud to be a Victorian, the Sallie Lee Cottage is an exquisite example of the architectural wonders of the late 1800s. Around 1880, Sallie Lee built a stick-style Victorian cottage on Ashland Avenue. In doing this, she became the first woman to own a home in Western North Carolina. The cornerstone of this beautiful home centers around the exterior architectural displays of lines, angles, and ornate grids. Furthermore, the interior is equally exceptional, centering around its unique triangular fireplace; which results a distinct Latin cross floor plan. The home boasts two bedrooms and one full bath. The Butterscotch Room has a fully functioning gas fireplace and access to the Mahogany Tea Room. The Tea Room is bathed in sunlight and offers access to the homes’ two front porches! Enjoy a warm cup of tea relaxing in a vintange velvet chair. Lastly, the Terracotta Room has a full sized wardrobe which was built using the original flooring pulled from the home during the restoration process. Each bedroom has a brand new queen sized bed and plenty of natural light. The bathroom offers a full sized bathtub and shower, plush towels and essential toiletries, just in case! The cozy living room is inviting for great conversation centered around the gas fireplace. Shared with the dining space, the home also utilizes Google Home for anything and everything the internet has to offer. The unique floor plan continues in to the kitchen where you will find the cabinets completely stocked and ready for any chef! The property offers off-street parking with a private driveway and fits up to two vehicles.
