It is about 1.5 hours North of Ludington.4. Coming from Chicago? Amtrak train will depart from Chicago and stop in Grand Rapids, MI and Holland, MI. Both cities offer Budget and Hertz Car Rentals. Regardless of which city you depart from it is about 1.5 hour travel time to Ludington via car. Holland Amtrak station unloads passengers downtown Holland which is an award winning downtown community. It is landscaped with beautiful flowers, free standing brick fire pits, great shopping, an array of clean restaurants, and a splash pad for the kids! This opportunity to travel via Amtrak would allow you to stretch out visit the downtown area and check in at 4:00 or after.
