Description
Need to unplug, unwind, and reconnect with nature? Perhaps a romantic getaway? Retreat to our 900 sq. ft. cabin nestled in 22 acres of the Northeast Kingdom’s most magical forest. Wander the enchanted trails, dip your toes in Job’s Pond, or take a short drive to scenic Lake Willoughby. Indoors, take in the natural views, relax in the meditation space, stargaze on the balcony, or just nap by the wood stove. Bear Cub invites you to breathe in and remember what inspires you.Bear Cub Cabin was almost entirely built by the loving hands of a skilled carpenter, and you can feel it in every detail. The open-concept design of Bear Cub Cabin incorporates a fully equipped kitchen with a center island and an exposed beam ceiling as well as a spacious living area. In the winter months, cozy up to the warm glow of the heat stove, relax in the reading nook with the writings of Thoreau, or take a seat at the antique writing desk and let your pen follow your imagination back in time. The art and decor have been carefully selected to inspire and delight our guests, and include original woodcut prints and engravings from local artists as well as other whimsical touches and surprises.Follow the spiral staircase up to the loft bedroom and sink into the luxurious linens of the queen-sized captain’s bed. Perhaps you’d like to start your mornings or end your days with quiet reflection time in the meditation space or venture out the French doors onto the balcony and listen to birds and the wind rustling the leaves.Bear Cub Cabin caters to natural views, so we haven’t installed any digital screens. But we do provide onsite high-speed WiFi and a Bluetooth speaker for your enjoyment. When temperatures are cold, enjoy the easy-to-use gas log heat stove, or simply adjust the thermostat to your preferred temperature to use the central gas heating.**A full-size 4-wheel drive vehicle is a must for snow and mud seasons. The last 3 miles of the trip to Bear Cub Cabin are a gravel road. The road and the driveways are well maintained and regularly snow plowed but can get tricky at times with snow and ice conditions. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have questions. We will do our best to accommodate you!
