A lovely place for reunions, large families, wedding group accommodations and other celebrations. Enjoy a beautiful captain’s estate + guest house located just a few minutes’ walk to Falmouth’s Main Street cafes, shops and restaurants, close to Woods Hole & the Martha’s Vineyard Ferry, and the Shining Sea bike path. Surf Drive Beach is 0.9 miles from the house.The house has 19th century charm and elegance paired with a modern design esthetic. Spacious, perfect for a large family or group of friends.The main house has six bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom and TV – so there is plenty of opportunity for private space as well. Two bedrooms are on the first floor and four are upstairs. Settle in the large living room by the fireplace for a game or a puzzle, or cook up a hearty meal in the large, well-equipped kitchen.The Guest House has a large studio-type bedroom with a king bed and cathedral ceiling, and a separate kitchen area and bathroom. Additional sleeping area possible (please inquire).There is plenty of outdoor lawn area, as well as a fire pit and lawn games available.The property is in the beautiful New England village of Falmouth, a 5 minute stroll takes you to the heart of the village with lots of restaurants, cafes, shops.Guests of the House are limited to a total of 3 vehicles. Guests of the Cottage are limited to 1 vehicle.Easy access to the rest of the Cape, and to Martha’s Vineyard by ferry.All spaces in the house are accessible, except the basement and attic. Our maintenance team requires occasional access to the basement of the House. This access is facilitated through the rear mudroom exterior door of the kitchen (a separate door exists between kitchen and mudroom). Please keep the door closed between the kitchen and the mud room so you are not disturbed if someone needs to access the basement for maintenanceFalmouth Village’s charming Main Street is lined with dozens of shops, restaurants, and convenience stores are all a short walk from the property. Main Street’s quirky shops, patio restaurants, and wide green spaces are best enjoyed on foot.Parking is limited to 4 parking spaces total for the House and Guest HouseGetting here – The best way to get directly to Falmouth without a car is by bus. The Peter Pan bus terminal is just a few minutes walk from the property.The WHOOSH trolley can take you to 11 different stops throughout Falmouth, and even connect you to the larger Cape Cod Transit system to get to other parts of the Cape!The Shining Sea Bikeway is located behind the property, take Simpson Lane to access it.Please note there is potential for noise as this is a mixed residential and commercial area.The Bathhouse at 56 Surf Drive sells beach stickers on a 5 days/week schedule, open Weds.-Sun. Generally, Beach Stickers are not required until Memorial Day Weekend or later depending on the beach and available staff; Old Silver is the first place for enforcement, on a weekends only, weather-dependent basis. 7 days/week enforcement begins after Falmouth Public Schools get out, around the 4th week of June.PARKING: Guests of the Main House are limited to 4 vehicles.Guests of the Guest House are limited to 1 vehicle.Additional parking space(s) are possible in some circumstances.
