Welcome to House of Crabs!This gorgeous custom home has all the features you would want in your own home. It is a tastefully decorated home with beach house features and fine furnishings throughout. The house is directly on the bay, only 30 feet from the best wade fishing and crabbing in Galveston. In 2022, the homeowners have added a dock to access the bay fishing even easier. It is also ideal for kayaking or paddle boarding in the waters that our steps away from the home. The resort style heated Sunset Pool is walking distance from this home and the infinity edge pool at the Pointe West Beach Club are a short drive across the street. The beach at Pointe West is groomed and has no vehicle traffic. This makes for a safe and enjoyable day on the sand or a day fishing in your vacation homes backyard.The home is open and has spectacular views of Galveston Bay. On the first floor there is an open kitchen, living and dining room with large windows viewing nature’s beauty with a massive wrap around deck that encompasses three sides of the house. Take in the gorgeous views of the bay, inlet, surf and wildlife. Plenty of seating on the deck to enjoy the sunset each night. On the front side of the first floor there are 2 bedrooms with 2 full baths’ that both have access to a front balcony that looks towards the Gulf of Mexico. Get up early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Gulf. One bedroom has a queen size bed, the other has 4 extra-long custom built in bunkbeds with charging stations for each guest’s phone. The second floor has the private master bedroom, with a large master bath and a private balcony overlooking Galveston Bay. The nook outside the master bedroom has an oversized single sleeper chair that is great for an extra guest or a child that wants to be near their parents. This home does have an elevator, but IT IS NOT available for guest use.High speed wireless Internet access is provided for your use while staying here as well as a huge flat screen smart TV to relax in front of after a day of beach combing, swimming and/or fishing. There is also flat screen TVs in the master bedroom and a first-floor bedroom.An open concept gourmet kitchen is ready for your cooking needs. It is complete with stainless steel appliances and table for 6 as well as island counter with bar stools for gathering. Toaster, blender and coffee maker are also included as well as a wide assortment of pots, pans and baking items. There is also a charcoal grill for your use at the home. Please bring charcoal if you would like to grill by the bay!Guests may enjoy all the amenities of Pointe West. A registration fee applies for each guest. These include the beach and bay side pool areas with a large infinity edge pool, hot tub, children’s pool, lazy river pool, game room, fitness facility, organized resort activities and more. Bring the entire family and enjoy the pleasures of this Beach community.When you stay in a Bay to Beach Rental Property, all you need to bring is your clothes, beach towels/chairs, sunscreen, food and you! We provide paper towels, toilet paper, large & small trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher pods, laundry pods, fabric softener sheets, hand soap, coffee, coffee filters, shampoo, body wash, and basic spices in each unit.Pointe West is an exclusive resort community on the western tip of Galveston Island. The beaches are clean, groomed regularly and closed to vehicular traffic. The main clubhouse has a beautiful infinity edge pool, hot tub, kid’s pool, cabanas, grills, gift shop, workout facility with lockers and a game room. The Sunset Pool on the bayside has a small lazy river, hot tub, fire pit, gas and charcoal grills for the guests use during their stay. Enjoy the pool bar and restaurant, Smore’s by the Sunset Pool, kid’s crafts, Dive-in Movies and live entertainment. (We will send you the activity schedule upon booking your vacation or you can check the Pointe West Beach Club website for times/dates).Golf carts, kayaks and paddleboards are available for rent from local island vendors. Please ask us we have information on these items and other things you may want to rent when visiting Pointe West.You are only approximately 30 minutes from downtown Galveston (The Strande), Schlitterbahn, Moody Gardens, Pleasure Pier and all the other great attractions of Galveston. Major grocery stores are located 20 minutes away so we recommend guests stop on their way in so they never have to leave their vacation getaway!WRISTBAND POLICYThe Property Owners Association (POA) at Pointe West collects a wristband fee of $25 per guest for each guest over the age of 4 (children younger than 4 do not pay) for use of the Beach Club and Sunset Pools during your stay at Pointe West. This is a onetime fee during your stay, not a daily fee. No wristbands are required to enjoy the beautiful beaches at Pointe West this fee is only for use of pools, fitness center, and other amenities. A reservation has been made in your name for your rental period at Pointe West. The wristbands are available at the Beach Club reception every day during business hours (9-5 off season, 9-6 peak season). The physical address for the Beach Club is 4161 Pointe West Drive, Galveston, TX. 77554. You do not have to purchase a wristband to enjoy the restaurant/bar at Pointe West. Your reservation will allow you to receive a temporary band to enjoy this business amenity.PLEASE NOTE: RESTAURANT IS CLOSED ON MONDAY’S DURING THE SPRING/SUMMER TO RESTOCK AND CLEANAFTER LABOR DAY UNTIL OCTOBER 30, RESTAURANT IS CLOSED ON MONDAY AND TUESDAYTHE RESTAURANT AND GIFT SHOP ARE CLOSED FROM NOVEMBER 1-MARCH 1 EVERY YEARFITNESS CENTER, GAME ROOM AND POOLS ARE OPEN YEAR ROUNDTHE SUNSET POOL ON THE BAYSIDE OF POINTE WEST IS HEATED FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT YEAR-ROUND. THE BEACH CLUB POOL IS NOT HEATED AS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP AN INFINITY POOL WARM. BOTH POOLS HAVE LARGE HOT TUBS FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT.
