The Bethabara room, decorated with an English garden theme, is located on the first floor and features a spacious room with a king-size, brass bed with a comfortable sitting area. There is a vanity for getting ready. The striking red fireplace (non-operational) is a focal point of the room with its original tile and cover from the early 1900s. The en-suite bath features a shower and pedestal sink.Built in 1907 as the private residence of Henry Fries Shaffner, the co-founder of Wachovia Loan and Trust, this extravagant Victorian-style mansion boasts Tiger oak hand-carved paneling, original coal-burning fireplaces, a grand staircase and priceless antiques. It is perfect for quiet nights away or corporate and private events. Located in downtown Winston-Salem, it is walking-distance to a multitude of the city’s best restaurants, bars and shops.The Shaffner has retained historic charm while expanding to include modern amenities such as free WiFi, 43″ smart, flat-screen TVs, alarm/clock and USB charging stations.
