If you want a work-out, park at the first parking area for a nice hike up the mountain to the second parking area and observation deck.Helen and Blue Ridge are a short drive, and it is always fun to take some time and visit the “touristy” sights and activities but return to Miller’s Retreat for peace and privacy.A short distance to north is North Carolina where you can try your luck at the casino or go whitewater rafting in Nantahala.Whether it’s a boat on Lake Chatuge, the casino in Murphy, zip lining in Helen, or a winery tour; the activities are endless.
