Known as “Booth Cottage”, this charming and historic vacation rental home once belonged to actor Junius Brutus Booth, Jr., a Lincoln supporter but also the brother of the infamous John Wilkes Booth. In the later part of the 19th century, the property was part of the grand Masconomo Hotel, site of the first outdoor performance of Shakespeare under electric lights. What’s more, the movie “State and Main” was filmed in this very house and more recently, the Academy Award-winning movie “Manchester by the Sea” was filmed in spots you’ll recognize all around the area.The current incarnation of this historic home is divided into two separate dwellings, in a duplex fashion. One of the units, a remnant of the hotel, is the residence of the owner, and the other, the original Booth summer home, is all for you!
