      Description

      City center with harbor views in a walkable, very safe area. Located next to a paved pedestrian path with seasonal Muskegon Lake views and close to downtown events and beaches makes this the perfect vacation spot! Relax around the fire pit perched above the harbor lights, take a short bicycle ride downtown, or spend the day at the beach. Michigan’s Adventure is a short 12 minute drive. A nature preserve, fishing pond, dining, local bar, playground and axe throwing are with a few minutes walk.The spaceWelcome to our nest with a view! The Cuckoo’s Nest is located on the hill that sits over the main drag into the City of North Muskegon. You’ll see traffic round the corner into the city center where there’s restaurants, small businesses, a local bar & grill, and more. Overlooking Muskegon Lake you’ll have views of a marina and a harbor where swans are often seen. Located just off the paved bike path it’s a perfect spot for walks to the close by nature center or a 4 mile bicycle ride to downtown Muskegon events. A kid’s playground with basketball courts is 1/4 mile walk away. There’s a front covered porch perfect for lazy summer days of bird watching. Vander Velde fishing pond is a short walk to the Witham street hill. This is a popular fishing spot. The house is in the middle of city yet a private location. Outside you will hear traffic noise. This is a quiet neighborhood. There is a Ring Video doorbell.The home has many windows with an abundance of natural sunlight. The home has a large side yard and sits past a road end making it large and private. If your GPS routes you to the road end, just go around the corner to the alley entrance. There’s a paved parking lot on one side and a house on the other side of the home. The driveway is at the rear of the home off a paved alley. There’s enough parking in the driveway for 2 vehicles with trailers. If additional parking is needed there is free street parking very close by. We are currently sprucing up the yard and currently there are two areas with patio furniture and a fire pit.The home has been updated with new aesthetics for a relaxing and comfortable experience. Each piece of furniture and art has been carefully curated for guests to enjoy. Vintage textile wall art, metal art, and pottery adorn the house. Upon entering from the rear of the home there’s 3 steps in the small entryway into the kitchen. There’s pots, pans, dishes, spices, and all the basics to make meals. Off the kitchen is an oval dining room table that seats 6. There’s an adjacent space with a sofa twin bed pull out and a work station desk. There’s 1 bathroom with a shower tub, well lit vanity, toiletries, and plenty of towels and washcloths. A mirrored bi-fold door separates the bath area from the washer and dryer.The living room features a game/ sitting table that seats 4, a couch and chair that seats 4, and a 50″ Roku television. Extra blankets & pillows are available for sleeping. There are games available in the snack bar cabinets.The 2 bedrooms are upstairs. It’s a long staircase of 15 steps. The main bedroom has a nice seasonal view of Muskegon Lake. There’s a king size bed with comfortable bedding and pillows, a lounge chair and a small Roku television. Black out curtains allow for restful sleep. The 2nd bedroom has 2 new Coolvie extra long twin mattresses that can be used as one king bed. There’s a 50″ Roku television, mirror, small dresser, and a small closet for belongings. There are black out blinds in the window. There is a door that leads to the attic in this room, please do not access this area.There is a new king size Japanese floor mattress that can be used to sleep 2 additional guests on the floor. It’s located in the laundry area along with extra bedding.There is a barn door that leads to the basement where supplies are stored.
