Description
Our quiet, summer cottage built in 2009 on the western slopes of Freeman Ridge in Southwest Harbor, Maine at the end of a private road, is the perfect place to enjoy your vacation in Acadia National Park on lovely Mount Desert Island. The cottage has complete privacy, located in a peaceful, forested surroundings. Built on a ledge, the cottage has a tree top view of the woods and there are keyhole glimpses through the tall spruce of Bernard Mountain to the north and Swans Island to the southwest. The tall forest surrounding the cottage give an expansive treehouse feel to a modest cabin with a small footprint. Like most summer cottages in Maine, Granite Ledge is a single construction building and designed for seasonal use. Built to the owner’s specifications, the cabin’s framing and roof are made from lumber harvested and milled from the property. All appliances are new, floors are finished hardwood, giving a luxurious feel to a rustic experience.
