Description
The Escape on Jones combines the best of the 19th Century (an old wooden structure) with the best of the mid-20th century (bring on the color and sleek design). The result is an open and creative space for artists and dreamers of all ages. Each new item and construction material was sourced with eco-friendliness in mind. From the certified sustainably-sourced furniture pieces to the 100% recycled materials used to construct the Polynesian inspired courtyard and ‘hut,’ The Escape on Jones breathes the progressive ideas of today into a classic structure of yesteryear.Located on the ‘prettiest street in the South,’ walking on Jones St. is an escape all by itself. Lined with Savannah’s famous live oaks draped with Spanish moss, you will sink into vacation mode the moment you hit the street. The location is perfect. It’s in a quiet spot in the coveted historic district, but only blocks from the action and beauty of Savannah’s renowned squares, stores and restaurants. You can spend weeks without ever needing a car.The Escape on Jones is not owned by a factory rental company, but is instead the culmination of our family’s dream. We visited for years and as much as we love the beauty of all the historic homes, we struggled to find a rental that felt safe for our young children. Steep rickety staircases, peeling paint, dark corners, and hardscaped courtyards led to anxiety-ridden rental experiences. So when a fixer upper hit the market, we decided to do something different.Out went the steep brick staircase, and in went the deep deck steps (can only fall one at a time!). Out went the cinder blocks, in went the turf play area and soft stone pathways (ok, so our littlest one does still try to eat stones!). Every detail of The Escape on Jones was designed with child safety in mind, and as an inspirational space for creatives of all kinds. We are committed to providing the absolute best service possible to our guests. Needs will inevitably arise, as we have experienced in our travels, but it is how these situations are handled that makes all the difference. Your needs and concerns will always be addressed in an urgent and considerate manner. You will be greeted by a kind voice or face, focused on assuring your trust in us is rewarded with the most thorough assistance possible. This is our personal family home, and you will be treated as a treasured house guest.Lastly, as seasonal residents, we know the best of everything Savannah has to offer. If you share your interests, we’ll be happy to provide recommendations tailored to them. We want you to love The Escape on Jones and Savannah as much as we do. We are excited to be a part of your next adventure!(PLEASE NOTE: This property is intended for families, business professionals and romantic getaways. We respect our neighbors and strictly enforce the noise ordinance for the city of Savannah. No outside guests permitted without permission of the host)
