Description
A ‘Carriage House’ (CH) is just a Downeast old school name for a garage but lest you think you’re renting a garage: Think again! Rooftop deck is award-winning offering both exceptional water views and total privacy as it’s built into and not off of the third floor. The second floor is spacious and also offers exceptional views and is oriented seaward. The first floor is open space and aside from a mobile ping pong table offers a terrific space for rehearsal dinner or small wedding if it rains outside! The three bedrooms enjoy a sensational sunrise while looking towards a wooded corridor of land, Easterly. Bird song and sunrise will get your day started in the right way! There is also two fold-out or convertible couches for extra guests. And a second living room on third floor.Constructed in 2020, finished January 2021, this guest cottage, available in its entirety, is an elegant yet simple, modern, homage to easy living. Two uncluttered bedrooms, a sun-filled third floor LR and 1.5 baths ensures plenty of room for 6-8 with conv couches. The structure is almost 2,000 sq feet, with 1,000 feet of living space. The garage bays are outfitted as game rooms, and double as an ideal alternative for a reception or dinner party when the head count exceeds 10. The novelty of a front and back door allows you to feel as if your outside, but you’re not- ideal for when a sudden torrential summer rain shower dampens that special occasion. The kitchen appliances, laundry room, and lighting fixtures are all brand new. As is the carpets, the beds and mattresses and tv/ stereo. You will want for nothing while finding it immaculate throughout. There are spacious rooms for gathering together and nooks and crannies to hide away from everyone. The Boat Barn (aka guest house) overlooks a field in the foreground with sweeping views of Bagaduece Bay and Penobscot Bay seen easily beyond. In addition there are French doors off both bedroooms on second floor that open wide. The bird song in the morning is riotous and the ribbon of forest that separates our property from a protected field also presents opportunities too see deer, raccoon and bald eagles! This dwelling sits south and to the right of the ‘Big House’ also a rental, and just seaward of the ‘Tiny House’ aka garden cottage- also available for rent as a set, not individually. They are sited professionally so as to optimize view corridors while minimizing contact with each other, including assigned parking and individual laundry. Our (BB) guest cottage property offers privacy and seclusion. No common areas where strangers might linger. While also being only an hours drive to the more popular coastal enclaves of Camden and Bar Harbor. It is also a great base camp for exploring the outer islands by boat or kayak, returning home to your own slice of heaven. As it was only finished in January 2021 there are only a few reviews, all favorable; we assure you it will please even the most discriminating tastes!See more
