Description
Clean & Quiet Downtown 1BR Apartment w/ ParkingThis small, 2nd floor apartment is great for you, and even your small dog! It’s a modest size but has everything you need to visit, work, and play in Manchester, NH. Walking distance from downtown, you can make dinner in your fully equipped kitchen, or walk to some of Manchester’s best restaurants. One parking space and super-fast internet are included. The building was originally built in the late 1800’s as the home of mill manager Phineas Adams with the hustle and bustle of horse-drawn buggies up and down the street. The building now has a new life as a small residential apartment building with seven units. An outdoor dining table on the shared balcony is perfect for summer nights! The open-concept living/kitchen area has everything you need to work, cook, dine and relax. The bedroom features a queen-size memory foam mattress, and twin-size convertible chair-bed. A spacious bathroom has a full-size tub. A portable crib is available upon request. The apartment has modern electrical, and the fastest internet available in Manchester. A Rinnai heater is located in the living room and a window A/C unit is installed in the bedroom June-September. The bedroom has 2 windows, and there’s a window in the living room door. There are plenty of lights, but no other windows in the apartment. The living area has an Amazon Fire TV where you can log into all of your streaming services. We do not have cable or local channels. The bedroom chair folds down into a twin sofa bed, but it’s not the most comfy. The apartment is small. It’s best used for just 2 guests, but can accommodate a small family for a few nights. The kitchen has permanent child safety locks on the bottom cabinets.A shared washer & dryer are located in the basement, and available for your use anytime. You can pay using the Pay Range App, or with quarters. Just plan to bring your own, the change machine does not work. There are also 2 laundromats within a few blocks that are faster and easier. All check-in is handled via keypad entry.Smoking is not allowed in any of the units, or within 10 feet of open doors or windows. We love dogs, but please keep them off of beds and furniture. Dogs must be leashed in the common areas, and always remember to clean up after your dog.One car may be parked in the building lot. Additional vehicles must be parked on the street. Street parking is free on the street in front of the house, and on many of the surrounding streets. This is a full-occupied building with 7 units. We love the character of this old Victorian building, but expect to find squeaky floors, sticky doors, and some noise from the other units. Scott & Michelle manage the short-term apartments upstairs. Long-term tenants are handled by Blue Door Living.Emergency maintenance requests will be handled as soon as possible. We have a maintenance team that responds to most non-emergency requests within 48 hours during the work week, 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.Manchester hosts a number of festivals and road races throughout the summer & fall. The roads surrounding the apartment are often closed for these events, but you can exit/enter the parking area through the alleyway behind the house.Paving and utility work is planned for our street and the surrounding streets summer of 2023 & 2024. Expect road closures and delays.Located just steps from Elm Street, the apartment is a 5-10 minute walk from downtown bars and restaurants. A popular pizza shop is across the street, and a Rite Aid is just 1 block away. There are a number of grocery stores less than 10 minutes driving. The SNHU Arena is about 1 mile away. It’s a great spot for nurses and other traveling professionals. Catholic Medical Center is about 1 mile away. Elliott Hospital is 2.5 miles, and Dartmoth-Hitchcock is a little over 3 miles away. This is a good neighborhood, but it’s not the prettiest. We’re located in between the parking lot of a medical building, and an old apartment building. A YWCA home is located across the street. The ladies are often outside talking and smoking. We’ve never had any issues, but it’s a busy downtown area not a quiet, residential neighborhood.
