Enjoy the easy two-block stroll to Sonoma Plaza, where you can choose from Sonoma’s best restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and gift shops, also Mission St. Francis Solano, the last and northernmost mission of the California Mission Trail. The cottage is a wonderful base for taking walks to the historic Plaza, coffeeshops, wine bars and nearby vineyards.The traditionally furnished living room has a cozy, natural gas fireplace and sofa bed for additional guests for no extra charge. Our fully stocked kitchen has everything you need for preparing meals. The small room off the living room can be an office or nursery. The screened-in front porch is perfect for reading, and/or enjoying a glass of Sonoma Chardonnay. In September 2021 we built a redwood deck off the bedroom for outdoor relaxing or dining, and friendly deer are often, daily actually, sighted in the backyard pasture (they love apple cores).My wife Rose and I opened the doors of Kate Murphy’s Cottage in 1984. We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting guests from around the world and playing a part in their visit to the beautiful Sonoma Valley. It has been a singularly rewarding experience.
