The Claytor Lakefront Retreat at Claytor Lake has a waterfront lodge and an additional lakefront cottage that offers plenty of space for your large group with gorgeous panoramic views of the lake. It’s perfect for gathering with family, friends, work trip, VT/Radford Univ. events. It’s a very private, peaceful part of the lake with lots of wildlife and few passing boats. The large decks are perfect for gathering, grilling, unwinding or making s’mores at the fire pit. Huge private dock and additional dock for fishing, swimming, boating & creating memories. Hot tub under the stars is a great way to end an amazing day at the lake!The Retreat is very private, quiet, peaceful and full of natures beauty. WiFi with excellent speed for working remotely. Linens, towels, toilet paper and hand soap are provided.The Retreat offers a Large Claytor Lake Lodge with 6 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Next door is a charming Cottage with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. The Lodge features a huge front porch, partially covered, to enjoy your morning coffee along with a private stone patio to enjoy grilling and dinners outside. Newer furniture, excellent WIFI internet, washer/dryer in both houses, private patio and decks, multiple decks on both levels, and all the kitchen essentials. There is a Gas grill at each house for grilling and also a propane gas fire pit to enjoy on the deck for s’mores. There are three separate sitting areas with couches throughout the lodge. The large master bedroom features a luxurious king-size bed with stunning views and a large private master bath with both shower and jacuzzi tub. The second bedroom features a king size bed. The third bedroom has a queen size bed with sliding glass door to private back deck. The fourth bedroom has a daybed along with bunkbeds. The fifth bedroom has a double bed with sliding glass door to private back deck. The sixth bedroom is a loft with two twin beds and room for sleeping bags on the ground. The master bedroom (7th bedroom) at the cottage has a king size bed and private balcony over looking the lake. The second bedroom (8th bedroom) at the cottage has a queen bed and a twin with a private balcony over looking patio and hot tub. Guests will not have access to the garage. There is also a small cabin in between the two properties which is a project for us to renovate and not being used at this time.Pet-Friendly: Up to 1 dog allowed per stay with pet fee. NO cats allowed due to owners allergies. Pets not allowed on furniture. Lodge yard is completely fenced in, but fence is bent down in 2 areas in the back yard where large tree branch fell on the fence. Small crate available for use upon request.There is great swimming and fishing off the dock. The water at the end of the dock is about 5-7 feet deep and has a ladder for easy access in and out of the water. On the upper deck of the dock there is plenty of space for relaxing and catching a suntan. There is a sand bar about 40-50 ft out from the dock that prevents boats from the main channel from coming near the dock which makes it very private for swimming. If you have a boat there is easy access to the dock and has tie ups available. There are two 2-person kayaks and two paddle boards available for guests.Newly installed Reverse Osmosis filtration system for clean drinking water at the lodge.General: Free Wifi, central air conditioning, central heating, hot tub, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguishers, towels/linens, board games, pack-n-play crib available if notified prior to stay.There is an abundance of wildlife including deer, bald eagles, osprey, beavers, bear, fox, snakes, herons, etc…The lane is very private and excellent for morning/evening walks or for young kids to ride bikes or scooters. Do not park in the grass.About 40 minutes to Virginia Tech and Radford University.NOTE: This is a non-smoker property. No smoking both inside and out. If you smoke, please do not book this property.
