Description

Our 3 bedroom cottage is situated along the Green River on a quiet dirt road, 20 minutes to Brattleboro. Bask in the beauty of rural Vermont—sit on the front deck and enjoy the sounds of the river and stargaze while surrounded by the enchanting beauty of the rolling hills. Right outside the door you can walk, bike or jog for miles alongside the picturesque Green River. Our cottage is the perfect place to relax or enjoy all the area has to offer. Perfect for couples, families, friends.Neighborhood:We are off the beaten path in beautiful Guilford, VT. It’s a 20 minute trip to Brattleboro where you will find the nearest grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations, so please plan ahead;) You will also travel on about four miles of dirt road to get here.Greenfield, MA is a 25 minute drive where you’ll find the same amenities that Brattleboro has to offer. We live in an area popular with bikers, walkers, and runners for the MILES of quiet country dirt roads. Stroll, bike, or jog the 3.5 mile loop around Pulpit Mountain, which is bordered by the Green River and Roaring Brook. If not feeling that ambitious, walk down to the covered bridge and dam, which is a flat, 2.5 mile round trip…or walk for miles South, into Massachusetts. If hills are more your speed, we have that too! Just want to relax? The Green River Crib Dam offers a swimming/wading area, and a lovely shaded picnic area with the covered bridge and Green River Church as a backdrop.Or just sit tight at the cottage and enjoy the rolling hills from the deck, or sit in patio area for meals and libations.House Details:You’ll have access to the entire house and private yard with a picnic table, gas grill and fire pit—we provide the wood. We converted the garage into a patio area with dining area and dart board—open the garage door and let the outside in. The front deck allows for additional outdoor enjoyment.Access the brook behind the barn, or river across the road, our property is bordered by Roaring Brook and Green River. We have a fully stocked kitchen- plenty of dishes, cutlery, and cookware. Gas range/oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, toaster over, and programmable drip coffee maker. For entertainment we have a Roku device so you can stream TV and movies on our 55″ flat screen. Hand drums, board games, adult and children’s books, as well as coloring books/crayons, and children’s toys are available as well.Other things to note:**No baseboard heaters upstairs, so it stays cooler than main floor during cold weather, but we have lots of extra blankets to keep you toasty warm. We suggest placing one of our fans (on low) at the bottom of stairs to push the warm air up. In the summer it is hotter than the downstairs, but we’ll have a fan in each room to help keep you cool, and there is an A/C in the bedroom that has the full size bed. There is also an A/C in the downstairs living room. Fans will be there all year for those who like white noise for sleeping.****Highly suggest winter tires or AWD/4WD during the winter months. If unsure, please ask about current conditions.****There is no cell service in our area. We do have WiFi and a landline.****No need to bring bottled water. We have the best tasting well water in Vermont!**
