Cozy ski retreat with mountain views–perfect for couplesWelcome to Alpinhaus Vail! A top-floor walk-up, 1BR/1BA condo overlooking the beautiful Vail Valley. This property is along Gore Creek with mountain-top views and is located on the grounds of the Vail Racquet Club.THE SPACE:Recently remodeled 550 sq ft condo with mid-century inspired design, we expanded our kitchen and dining area to add a dining area. Our sofa features a Queen Plus sized pull-out bed with no metal bars (a.k.a. super comfortable!) so we can sleep up to 4 guests. You can also relax in our meditation loft. The bedroom is quiet and comfortable with a Queen sized Dream Cloud brand hybrid mattress and a custom closet to stow all your belongings. The bathroom is more of a hotel style (where the shower and loo are in a room separate from the sink area). The private deck overlooks Gore Creek and the Gore Range mountains and offers two rocker chairs and an electric grill.AMENITIES WE OFFER:We believe in providing quality amenities and furnishings to our guests. In the kitchen, we supply a wide range of spices for you to cook with, oil, pantry staples like flour and sugar, and a supply of K-cups, coffee grounds, and teas. While the supply is not infinite, we leave a generous amount of paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, toilet paper, and trash bags for use during your stay. Our kitchen drawers are stocked with a wide range of kitchen utensils and tools–no old, dull knives and mismatched silverware here! We are foodies and come to our condo often so decent quality cookware is a must for us–plus, no one wants to cook on an ancient scratched-up Teflon pan!We supply cozy blankets to wrap up in (and yes, they are washed with every change of guest) as well as one bundle of wood to get you started with the fireplace. All linens are fresh for each guest and we leave a spare set of bed linens–just in case! In our rental agreement, we allow you to choose the number of bath linens we leave for you to help customize your stay. A supply of hotel-sized toiletries (shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, lotion) is supplied as well. You are welcome to use our ski locker on the ground floor but you must bring your own lock for it.There are pay-per-use washers and dryers on the ground floor of our building. They are coin or credit-card-operated. We supply some detergent for you under the bathroom sink if you’d like to use it.Parking is free and we can leave you passes for up to 2 vehicles during your stay. The condo is on the FREE bus line that can take you anywhere in the Vail Valley that you want to go. Skip the $50+ ski day parking fees and hop on the bus at one of the TWO bus stops within short walking distance from our door.We provide two smart TVs (one in the bedroom, and one in the living room) and the condo has Xfinity high-speed internet. You are welcome to sign in to your favorite streaming services–just remember to sign out before you leave! The meditation loft above the living room has a variety of books and art supplies. There are a few board and card games in the console under the TV to enjoy as well.We provide two luggage racks in the bedroom and offer several USB-integrated power outlets so you can always easily charge your devices.WE DO NOT HAVE A/C!! Frankly, we do not need it here and the majority of homes in the area do not have it. We live in the area full time and while there are a few days in July when it can get a little warm, with the windows open and the ceiling fans on it cools nicely. Our unit generally self-maintains a temperature between 68-73 degrees. Being at high altitude is A/C in and of itself. It rarely gets above the mid 80’s temperature here. If you absolutely must have A/C, you should select a different homestay. Our heat is electric baseboard and the bedroom has a separate thermostat from the main room. Guests are welcome to control the thermostat as they see fit.RESORT AMENITIES *** please read carefully****:The Vail Racquet Club is a 20 acre resort property that features multiple rentable tennis courts, pickleball courts, basketball hoops, a year-round heated pool, a family hot tub, two adult-only hot tubs, a fitness room, a yoga/pilates room, saunas, and steam rooms in each locker room, a gift/clothing shop, on-site massage therapy, and an on-site restaurant, Apres Cafe. ENTRY TO THE CLUBHOUSE IS NOT INCLUDED WITH CONDO RENTAL! Guests may purchase a drop-in day pass at the front desk of the clubhouse if they wish to use the club amenities OR in our rental agreement, guests can elect to pre-purchase a bulk rate punch pass. The punch pass has 10 entries and is perfect for longer stays where guests would like to visit the club more than once or twice. The Apres Cafe and gift/clothing shop do not require a day pass to enter. Additionally, if you book a massage, it comes with complimentary day access to the club. We recommend you call the Vail Racquet Club ahead of your stay to secure your spot with the massage therapist if you plan on booking a massage.RECREATION:We’re 5 minutes from the center village at Vail, 15 minutes from Avon (Beaver Creek Resort), 15 minutes from Copper Mountain, about 35 minutes from Breckenridge and Keystone and Ski Cooper, 40 minutes from Arapahoe Basin, and 45 minutes from Loveland Ski Area so skiing and snowboarding opportunities abound.Other winter activities such as ice fishing, XC/Nordic skiing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, sleigh rides, sledding, and more are readily available. In summer, the hiking is endless (we’re happy to recommend trails!). Horseback riding, goat yoga, goat happy hour, art festivals, music festivals, farmers markets, bicycling, adventure parks, hot springs, fishing, camping, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, and more are all close by.We offer a curated list of recommended places to all of our guests.THINGS TO NOTE:-We are a high-alpine environment. Snow, ice, and hazardous conditions can happen at any time. While the property is well maintained and many of the paths are heated and/or shoveled, not all surfaces will be clear of snow and ice at all times. Caution must be used and guests assume the risks of staying in an alpine environment. We highly recommend you do NOT wear ski boots when climbing the stairs to the unit.-While we do allow children, our space is NOT recommended for younger children. The condo is a top-floor walk-up. There is unprotected furniture, balconies, sharp kitchen items, etc. that would be accessible to youngsters. We are NOT baby-proofed or toddler-proofed or curious child-proofed. Parents who bring children assume all responsibility for their children in the unit.-Our condo is not recommended for those with mobility issues. There is no elevator and some hallways are relatively narrow.HOUSE RULES:-No Pets per the HOA. We love animals but please respect this rule. Also, please do not attempt to pass a pet off as a service animal. This is fraud and illegal in Colorado and only serves to harm those who legitimately are service animals for people who truly require them. ESA’s are not federally protected as service animals. Bringing a pet and/or faking a service animal will result in an immediate termination of your stay and forfeiture of your security deposit and reporting to the state of Colorado. Any fines imposed by the HOA for the pet will be passed on to you and become your responsibility.-Absolutely no smoking or vaping of any kind inside the unit. And no smoking/vaping near open windows or doors to the unit. Smoke odor embedded in the unit will be charged an additional clean-up fee or result in the forfeiture of your damage deposit. If you are a smoker and smoking outside of the building, please be sure you are extra vigilant in your ashing and disposal methods. Colorado is MUCH more dry than most areas and a cigarette can easily ignite a raging fire. Do not smoke or have open flame near any potentially combustible material.-No tampering with smoke detectors, internet routers, wireless networks, thermostats, or locks. Our smoke detectors are hard-wired into a fire monitoring system. Tampering will result in a $300 fine from the HOA that will be passed on to you.-All guests WILL be required to sign a rental agreement after booking and prior to their entry code being given out. This agreement reinforces the VRBO contract but also goes in-depth with information about the property, fulfills our HOA and town requirements of dispensing certain information to guests, and it helps us collect information to help us customize your stay such as how many towels you want, how many parking passes you need, if you’d like to purchase a clubhouse punch pass, etc.-All guests must purchase either the VRBO-offered damage insurance or do a fully refundable damage deposit at the time of booking.CANCELLATION POLICY:We have a moderate cancellation policy with VRBO. We HIGHLY advise you to purchase a “cancel for any reason” trip insurance policy with a third-party insurance carrier. These types of policies can offer coverage for illness, trip delay, weather impacts, and more and are generally very economical. We will happily supply your policymakers with any necessary documentation should you need to file a claim.CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS:We do not believe in a long list of things to do before you head home. We expect our guests to treat the condo reasonably and we simply ask that you:1) Leave towels and linens where they are! No need to strip the beds or gather linens.2) Make sure the faucets, stove, and oven are off and the fridge/freezer are closed.3) Log out of entertainment apps.4) If the trash is stinky, please take it out. That’s it! Of course, we welcome it if a guest starts the dishwasher, clears the fridge of their used food, or sweeps up however we do NOT require guests to do that. We clean the condo ourselves and are very thorough in all the tasks.Vail MuniRevs 027216
