Description

The spacious Savannah Rea is docked first at the 5th Street Marina, just steps away from Downtown Augusta! Sitting directly on the Savannah River, the houseboat provides gorgeous views from inside your corridors or from one of three outdoor spaces including the 800 sq.ft rooftop deck. Bow and stern patios have seating for four and provide exceptional views of the Savannah River from sunrise to sunset. There is a charcoal grill on the back patio.Rooftop deck has a 360′ view which includes views of Downtown Augusta, The Augusta Riverwalk, the iconic 1912 Southern Railroad Bridge and lastly, Augusta’s newest attraction, the Freedom Bridge.Inside, the wet bar ties the living room, kitchen and dining area all together in one open space. The couch in the living room folds out to a full sized bed, high top table sits four, kitchen has microwave and refrigerator/freezer (THE STOVE/OVEN, DISHWASHER AND TRASH COMPACTOR ARE OUT OF USE) and wet bar has built-in ice-maker and countertop k-cup coffee maker. Behind the closet doors in the kitchen you’ll find a full use stacked washer/dryer with detergent and whitening pods.Large bathroom has full sized walk in shower, high end marine toilet, three shelf vanity.Queen sized bedroom has fantastic large windows and back sliding glass door with back patio access. Multi-functional built in desk has plugs for computer charging. Left hand closet has robes, grilling accessories and vacuum. The houseboat is cooled by a mini-split A/C system which includes two separate wall units, one in the living room and another in the bedroom. The marina has a public Wi-Fi network which can be connected to throughout the houseboat. The entire inside and outside of the houseboat are open for use.We offer early check-in (12 NOON) and late check-out (1PM) for $50/occurrence. Availability is based on a first pay/first service basis and may not be available in all cases. We recommend that you request either or both when sending your initial introduction message upon booking. We don’t want any surprises when you arrive so these are the things to expect.GLAMPING – The only difference between the houseboat and a camper is the ground beneath, or lack there of. We throw the “Glam” in because this is glamping at its finest.SAVANNAH RIVER – We see many different species of wildlife both in and out of the water. Insects, reptiles, birds and fish will all make a presence here on the river. We spray the outside of the boat to minimize insects from intruding your space. Keeping the windows closed and closing the doors behind you, especially in the summer months will also help tremendously.FISHING – We do not supply any fishing gear but Walmart (less than 10 minutes away) has a full fishing department. Fishing is ONLY allowed off the boat itself, not the dock. Visit Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources website to purchase a fishing license and to read all rules and regulations before casting your line.MARINE TOILET – We have a zero tolerance policy for any kind of waste to enter the river. The toilet used on the boat is very high end and is nearly identical to the one used at your home. We supply the bathroom with marine grade toilet paper which is the only thing besides waste that should be flushed. A $400 charge applies to any waste system failure that is caused by any prohibited object or thing you flush.SECURITY CAMERAS – We have a Ring security system installed throughout the dock space to monitor my kayaking business, specifically the kayaks themselves, our storage spaces, the gas pump and the associated dock space. It records 120 seconds of both video and audio when it detects any motion. THIS MEANS THAT EACH TIME YOU, ADDITIONAL GUESTS OR VISITORS PASS THROUGH, YOU/THEY WILL BE RECORDED.PETS & ADDITIONAL GUESTS – I love fur babies! I have one of my own and he tags along everywhere I go. As long as they are accounted for on the reservation, I would love for your pup(s) to stay aboard. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE ENTIRE PERIMETER OF THE HOUSEBOAT HAS OPEN RAILINGS AND FIVE ENTRY/EXIT POINTS THAT ONLY HAVE A ROPE ACROSS THEM. DO NOT LEAVE THEM UNATTENDED WHILE OUTSIDE. I TOTALLY GET that accidents happen when dogs are in spaces that they are not used to. I’ll say this again, I TOTALLY GET IT. Please send me a message via VRBO Inbox if there are any bathroom accidents and/or stomach accidents that occur so we can make sure they are attended to right away. Like many others, I do not enjoy foul smells and/or stains on carpets or linens so we would like to ask you for a few minutes while you are on-board for us to shampoo rugs and/or change any linens out if they are spoiled in anyway. NO OTHER TYPE OF PET IS ALLOWED ONBOARD. I encourage you to invite any friends or family aboard during your stay but ask you to send me a message via VRBO Inbox to give me a heads up if there will be a total of 5 or more people (max 10) on the boat at any given time. Only the amount of guests that are associated with your reservation are allowed to spend the night.
