Temperatures are perfect in Durango for outdoor activities (hiking and biking). You can also ride trails in Farmington and Cortez (the famous Phil’s World trail) which are usually too hot to do in the summer. Lake Nighthorse is still open to SUPing, swimming, and boating until November 1st. Also enjoy beautiful Vallecito lake. It is also the best time to visit Mesa Verde NP, just 45 min away. Durango is not as crowded as in the summer.Our house:Our in-town contemporary spacious 3-bedroom house has an open floor plan and breathtaking La Plata mountain views. Lots of light and 2 outdoor areas to enjoy. The house sleeps 6 people. Sip your coffee on the front porch looking at the mountains or enjoy a barbecue in the secluded backyard, or cozy up by the fireplace and watch a movie.What you will like about this house:- The location: IN TOWN!! Minutes from downtown Durango with restaurants and shops; access to a large network of trails straight from the backyard; minutes from the river (kayak, raft, swim, fish); 15-minute drive to lake Nighthorse; endless outdoor recreation opportunities within a 30-minute drive, including Purgatory ski area with summer activities, skiing/snowboarding, and xc skiing. La Plata Canyon and Vallecito xc skiing are 30 and 40 minutes away, respectively. Backcountry skiing opportunities abound in a 1-hour radius.- The neighborhood: Located in a quiet cul-de-sac neighborhood with hiking/mt biking trails and open space access just from our doorstep!- Large open floor plan, including gourmet kitchen with island, counter/bar sitting (sits 3), large dining table (sits up to 6), large living room area with gas fireplace, smart TV/entertainment center, sectional sofas with chaise.- High speed internet and wifi throughout the house (we both work from home).- Central A/C, in-floor heating, gas fireplace.- Large carpeted master suite that can accommodate a baby/toddler bed, large walk-in closet, and master bathroom with 2 sinks, a 2-head shower, a separate large bathtub, and a separate toilet.- Two guest bedrooms: One has a queen bed pull-out couch and 2 large desks. The other has a twin bed and a large closet. The guest bathroom has a shower/tub and ample shelf and drawer space.- Two outdoor areas to enjoy: 1) The west-facing covered front deck with breathtaking mountain views, table and 2 chairs; 2) the secluded south-east facing back yard with views of the treed hillside (no neighbors). Shade sails (in summer), BBQ grill, lounge chairs, patio table + 4 chairs.- laundry room/gear room with a lot of shelves to store your gear.- Enhanced cleaning.
