Description
The Falls room, with a Queen Victorian theme, is a spacious size and is situated on the second floor. It offers an abundance of natural light and abounds in rich elegance. It is the original master suite, and contains a comfortable king-size bed, as well as two plaid, wingback chairs for lounging and a desk if work needs to be done. The en-suite bath features a tub/shower combination. As with every room at our inn, Falls is unique from furnishings to color palette, including the beautiful red fireplace (non-operational) with original tile and cover from the early 1900s. This room can become a two-room suite when joined with the Tanglewood room, if you are traveling with family or friends.Built in 1907 as the private residence of Henry Fries Shaffner, the co-founder of Wachovia Loan and Trust, this extravagant Victorian-style mansion boasts Tiger oak hand-carved paneling, original coal-burning fireplaces, a grand staircase and priceless antiques. It is perfect for quiet nights away or corporate and private events. Located in downtown Winston-Salem, it is walking-distance to a multitude of the city’s best restaurants, bars and shops.The Shaffner has retained historic charm while expanding to include modern amenities such as free WiFi, 43″ smart, flat-screen TVs, alarm/clock and USB charging stations. For your convenience, we also provide complimentary face wash, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, as well as an iron, ironing board, and hairdryer.
