Hop onto I-70 to experience breathtaking hikes and views within an hour. One of Colorado’s main draws is Rocky Mountain National Park, which makes for a great day trip. Drive a little over an hour through a dramatic canyon for a day of hiking, sightseeing, and wildlife viewing. Depending on your destination, skiing is 1-3 hours away. Locals head to Echo Mountain, Eldora (near Boulder), or Loveland (near Georgetown) for a more low-key experience. We’re also within a couple of hours of Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain.Getting Around:The Rocky Mountains are to the West of where you will be staying. HWY 285 and I-70 West will take you into the mountains and straight to the ski areas, while you can hop on I-25 to access Boulder and Fort Collins to the North and Colorado Springs to the South. I-25 to HWY 36 takes you to Boulder and eventually the Rocky Mountain National Park gateway towns of Lyons and Estes Park.Denver is a highly walkable city. In addition to nearby Downtown, RiNo Art District, Whittier, and City Park are excellent choices for strolling. You’re a 7-minute walk to Coors Field and a 10-minute walk to the Diary Block. Prefer to do your exploring on two wheels? Grab a B-Cycle and get pedaling! For those without a car, we recommend utilizing Uber or Lyft. Premier attractions such as City Park, Denver Zoo, and Denver Botanic Gardens are a short, inexpensive ride away.
