Nestled in the beautiful Jordan River Valley, this cozy cabin is a writer’s dream. Located seven miles from Mancelona, this woodsy retreat provides easy access to hiking, fishing, canoeing, and skiing. Shorts Brewery, and their famous craft beer, is a fifteen minute drive to downtown Bellaire. Traverse City and Petoskey are just forty-five minutes away. Wander the gardens that are part of the small turn-of-the-century farm, or just enjoy the quiet of the north woods.The Jordan River Valley is part of the Mackinaw State Forest and is truly one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in northern Michigan. Its river was the very first to be designated as a wild and scenic river by the Federal government. The Jordan River Pathway provides 18 miles of trails and is part of the North Country National Scenic Trail.Winter note, the fireplace shown in the photo is not operational at this time. There are plans in the works but the heater for the cabin sets in the fireplace space as of now.
