These rooms share a large main bath with double sinks. The ample living room boasts windows and locally quarried stone walls, highlighting the original single-room cabin built, which now has an open space connected to the kitchen and a cheery gas fireplace. The newly renovated kitchen offers a KitchenAid gas stove, a lovely coffee area overlooking the hot tub, and access to the fantastic deck with a sunken hot tub to watch the sunset over the mountain pass. The front patio, accompanied by LED bistro lighting, has a gourmet Napoleon Gas Grill, including an infrared burner to perfectly sear a steak and vegetable for a fantastic dinner! Manitou Spring is less than 10 minutes away, Green Mountain Falls and Woodland Park are 10 minutes away, Downtown Colorado Springs is approximately 15 minutes, and the famous drive up to the top of America’s Mountain at 14,115 feet – Pikes Peak Highway is directly across the street! Your vacation retreat awaits! Please reach out with any questions! We lived in the home for nearly six years while remodeling and continue to live in the community due to its excellent location and attractions! The Space:*First Floor*As you enter the front door you are greeted by a spacious living room/dining room with plenty of seating for the entire family. This will be emailed to you after your booking with a link to e-sign.-We are typically unable to provide early check-in or late check-out times. The only way to fully ensure considerable flexibility in the arrival or departure times is to book an additional day. It usually takes the entire time between guests to clean the house and to drain, clean, refill the hot tub, and balance the chemicals. When we can accommodate early check-in times, we must pay for additional cleaners to help speed the process. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for price adjustments that can be made to help facilitate an early check-in or check-out.- We do live in bear country, please do not leave any trash/food outside or in vehicles. Bear-proof trash cans are available for disposing of trash.- We have a lovely, peaceful neighborhood and value our relationship with neighbors. Please observe quiet time of 9pm-8am. In addition to the outdoor security cameras over the driveway and front door, we also utilize the Minut noise monitoring system. There are NO indoor cameras or monitoring systems and the Minut system only reports decibels, protecting guest privacy. . If parties or excessive noise occurs on the property or complaints by neighbors, your reservation may be cancelled.-Only 4 vehicles are allowed on property.- Fire danger is HIGH in our area. NO open fires, fireworks, or smoking are allowed on the property.- A 4-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicle is recommended for the winter months. While we are located with easy access to HWY 24, the approach to the home includes a few short hills which can be slippery after snows. We provide a snow shovel and salt at the property, and snow removal from the driveway/shoveling of the walkway is provided by us if there is snow greater than 3″- Cell service is limited in the mountain pass. Verizon/Sprint generally have service in our area. We do not have a land line at the property, but do provide fast Wi-Fi (up to 500mbps) for Wi-Fi-enabled calling. This is subject to rare outages.- Décor/furnishings may vary slightly from pictures as we often update our property. The house is staged with historical items from the area, with most being from 1937 when the home was built. Please take time to enjoy pieces throughout the home.-Although we do not live at the property currently and give privacy to our guests, we are local and available if needed. As a native of Colorado, I am happy to provide suggestions on area attractions, easy day trips, or favorite restaurants.
