The family was finally able to realize their dream to rebuild it in 2016.The formal living room with its marble-faced gas log fireplace offers a beautiful sitting area for quiet conversation, reading or watching television. The dining room provides elegant seating for sixteen people. It too has a marble-faced gas-log fireplace. It is decorated with a beautiful collection of Japanese plates from the family’s years of living in Japan. The gourmet kitchen features a 48″ 6-burner gas stove with griddle and two ovens. The 3-seat granite topped peninsula area provides a work area with views of the verandah and Long Island Sound beyond. The kitchen is completely stocked with every cooking device required to create a gourmet meal. No need to tote things from home. A small breakfast nook makes a great place for early-risers to share a cup of coffee and watch the news. A Dutch door leads out to the verandah. The 20’ by 24’ verandah offers alfresco dining in the warm weather. A gas grill is conveniently located just off the steps. Guests have easy access to the Garden Lot and wonderful views of Fisher’s Island.Taking the stairs to the second floor you will find three bedroom suites. The Stanton Suite has a queen-sized bed and offers views to the south and east.
