The site once known as Albemarle County’s “First Modern Hotel” circa 1938 has been beautifully revived into its newest iteration and Ivy’s newest retreat.The retreat is comprised of 5 meticulously restored cottages (soon to be 8), seated on a private, gentle knoll, drawing inspiration from the idyllic charm and character of English country cottages merged with the warmth of southern hospitality. Our intent is to offer the comforts of home, while also providing convenience, privacy, and an ability to cater to your unique travel needs. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a family adventure, or looking to accommodate a large wedding or reunion party, our charming, fully-equipped cottages can adapt to whatever your needs may be.Each cottage is uniquely decorated and furnished to create a bespoke, character-rich home away from home, while also providing all the amenities needed to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible. These features, coupled with our central location which puts you within ten minutes of all the best attractions in our beautiful region, make Ivy Cottages both a stunning destination in and of itself, as well as the best jumping-off point to experience all central Virginia has to offer.Cornwall at Ivy Cottages is the 1st cottage upon entering the grounds.Painted in the rich blues of the sea, the Cornwall cottage is inspired by the southern coast of England. Fresh yet cozy, here you can curl up with a cup of tea, luxuriate in a plush king bed, and enjoy a full kitchen and bath. There will be some times that construction work will be going on, however, we have arranged the work to only be completed during the weekdays between 9:30 am – 5:00 pm and No Construction of the weekends in a concerted effort to not disrupt our guests during this time. We felt it important to share this information with you and we appreciate your understanding as we work towards completing our vision.
