Painting of this lanai will be done by June 30, 2024, so it’s no longer an issue.What to expect when you come to the West Maui:Keep in mind everything north and south of Lahaina Town is intact. That said most of of Lahaina Town is gone. So when you drive in via the Lahaina Bypass you will see some damage. Once you come down and get back on Honoapiilani Highway and go past Safeway (which is open) you will see what you have seen on TV. There’s nothing you can do but support those people now.There are a few displaced families still at Honua Kai as the Resort really stepped up more than anyone else in offering temporary housing.We hear all the time how much people love Maui, how they leave a little bit of their heart in Maui when the leave, and how Maui allows their family to connect or re-connect.
