Description

Yes, you did! If you’re looking for the perfect little spot on the Lake for your next family vacation, you’ve just found it! This charming Lakefront chalet is fully stocked and can easily accommodate three families. It sleeps 12 people comfortably on two floors. It has an open living area with a cozy fireplace, an updated kitchen with an island, and everything you’ll need for your stay: refrigerator, gas range and oven, BBQ, coffee maker, espresso machine, coffee grinder, toaster, microwave, waffle maker, pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishes, and silverware. You’ll have your own private beach with pier access to enjoy during the summer months. It’s an ideal ski/snowboard chalet during the winter, located just north of Homewood Ski Resort – the best kept secret among local skiers.OLYMPIC HISTORY: This beach house was the official residence of the Swedish Olympic Ski Team during the 1960 Olympic Games. A memorial plaque is proudly posted near the kitchen. My parents came from Greece, birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games, it warms my heart to share this with you! ♥LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: This adorable beach house is located in a great spot on the west shore of Lake Tahoe – “west shore, best shore” is what the locals say. The deck is perfect for spectacular views of the big blue Lake. Yes, that’s Nevada across the water to the east, and you’ll watch dazzling shows in the morning and the evening as you enjoy both the sun and the moon gloriously rising for your viewing pleasure from the front deck or large windows. In the evening, the sky and the Lake turn pink – that’s the time to take your photos out on the deck, on the beach, or on the pier! When you look south, you’ll see the ski paths at Heavenly Ski Resort, and to the north you’ll see Kings Beach and Incline Village. Keep your eyes open in the evening, as we are often treated to random fireworks at various points around the Lake at any given time! During 4th of July, hit the pier early with beach chairs, jackets, and flashlights – you’ll be treated to at least 5 different fireworks shows happening all around the Lake – what a treat!PRIVATE BEACH, SHARED PIER, BIKE/FOOT PATH: Right across the street is the private beach that is part of this property. We have a couple of beach chairs for you, and you might want to bring your water shoes. Save Mart in Tahoe City has plenty of beach gear for you if you forgot to pack something. You’ll see the bike/foot path that runs parallel to the street on the Lake side – either way you take on this path is a stunning, refreshing, and exhilarating excursion. This home is located 3.5 miles from Tahoe City where restaurants, shopping, the movie theater, and other activities can be found. And Obexer’s Marina is 2.5 miles south where you can launch your boat or rent sailboats and jet skis. While we have 4 bicycles for you to enjoy (2 adult, 2 kid), if that’s not enough, the Olympic Bike Shop in Tahoe City and West Shore Sports in Homewood both have rentals of all kinds – call ahead, bring your helmets. You’ll have access to the shared HOA Skyland pier which is locked and gated for you and your guests to soak up the sun, snap amazing photos, or jump in the lake.INSIDE THE BEACH HOUSE: Every bedroom has a view of the Lake. As you enter the beach house, you’ll be greeted by the dining area on your left, the living room on your right, and the newly remodeled kitchen in front of you. Next to the kitchen is a bathroom, and just past it you’ll find the only bedroom located downstairs with a queen bed. Up the stairs on the right you’ll find 2 bedrooms. The first bedroom has a full-sized bed, and this room connects to another bedroom we call “the submarine” with 4 twin beds. The submarine is a favorite with the kids. The 2 bottom beds pull out and create a fun little cozy cave-like spot all the kids enjoy! At the top of the stairs is a bathroom. Up the stairs and to the left you’ll find 2 bedrooms – the main bedroom and a sunlit room with 2 twin beds. The beautiful main bedroom has a queen bed, 3 large, picturesque windows, its own large bathroom, and a walk-in closet. There is wireless Internet for you in this home.Your pets are welcome with prior written approval at $50/night per-pet fee.The circular driveway can accommodate 4 cars, depending on the size.Be sure to empty your car completely – do not leave any food wrappers inside. The bears will break into your car for your delicious trash.Plan to layer your clothes. It can be very warm during the day and chilly at night. Water bottles are a must, it’s easy to get dehydrated. The closest ER is 18 miles north in Truckee. Please know that highways, access roads, and our driveway can be steep, which is common in the mountainous Lake Tahoe area and can be icy in the winter. In order to ensure your safety, it is critical that during November 1st – April 30th your vehicle must be in excellent operating condition. Check your brakes, windshield wipers & fluid, defroster, heater, and exhaust system. Your tires need to be properly inflated, and the tread must be in great shape. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle – unless you have a 4WD vehicle with snow-tires. Make sure the chains are the proper size for your tires and are in working order. You can find winter driving guidance from the CHP here: https://www.chp.ca.gov/programs-services/services-information/winter-driving-tipsWe practice Covid cleaning precautions before you arrive. Some road noise should be expected.CAUTION: Our home is on West Lake Blvd. which is the main road running along the West Shore. Please exercise extreme caution with your pets and small children.
