Here on the banks of Togus Pond – as this 654-acre lake is known locally – it’s not uncommon to spot bald eagles, geese, beavers, and turtles. It’s also a certified wildlife habitat and an ideal home base for those looking to be convenient to Augusta on their way to or from Acadia National Park.Ascend a flight of 16 stairs to be rewarded with gorgeous views of the lake on three sides, as well as a private balcony that feels like it’s part of the tree canopy. Begin each morning with a paddle around the lake in the provided canoe, returning home to read on the lakeshore, breathe in the pine-scented air, or build a campfire in one of the two firepits. (Please note that the canoe and the firepits are shared with the property downstairs.) Back inside this 200-square-foot space, you’ll find a minifridge and a microwave (but no full kitchen), a full bathroom, and recent updates that include air conditioning, free high-speed WiFi, and new window coverings on the two French doors.Things to KnowThis property is one half of a two-level duplex, with Lakefront Pines also available to rent downstairs.
