In winter, you’ll find snowshoe trails directly behind the house; come summer, those same trails are great for walking and lead to a lovely brook. Nearby, you can catch movies at The Gem Theater in Bethel (five miles), go swimming at Frenchman’s Hole (six miles), or take a memorable hike up Old Speck Mountain (17 miles).The house greets you back from your daily adventures with an abundance of log-cabin atmosphere. On summer evenings, linger outside to watch your kids play in the yard and light the gas grill for a barbecue dinner. Or, step inside and curl up in the warmth of the fireplace as the winter snow piles high outside.The main living space is open and inviting, bringing together the living room, the dining room, and a kitchen with modern appliances (including a wine fridge) and an island breakfast bar. After dinner each evening, gather for movies and board games in the den or test your skills at Ping-Pong.All four bedrooms have beds carved from natural logs, including one bedroom with its own desk workspace where you can log onto the complimentary WiFi in peace.
