Fortunately, we still have our Hapuna Golf Course available for play.A new spa will be built on the north lawn, the fitness center will be moved over to the Garden Room (just below) the new spa, and a lap pool will be built below that area. But that area is not really utilized for members or residential guests now so won’t affect any points of access.There will be some renovations done to certain restaurants at Mauna Kea but these will be short-lived projects. The Hotel has many amenities and access to arguably the best beach on the Big Island.Getting Around:The Big Island has much to see and do and it is highly advised that Guests rent a car to take advantage of the many things this island has to offer. Hawaii Island does not have abundant public transportation, so renting a car is best. However, if you do not drive you may consider hiring a charter tour, driver, or Uber.Other Things to Note:*Please note that the Mauna Kea Resort charges a separate $120 per day (per house) resort fee to assume member’s guest privileges. This fee is paid upon check-in, at the guest services office located in the Hapuna Hotel lobby (details included with rental agreement). If our Guests opt into the Resort Amenities they will have access to both the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel as well as the Westin Hapuna Hotel. It is well worth a visit to the Hapuna to visit their swimming pools and another world-class beach.The home was designed to be opened up and cooled with the natural breezes. There is a split ductless Air Conditioning system, one in either bedroom, which keeps the bedrooms cool at night and if all of the windows and doors are closed can even cool the main living area.
