Description
Enjoy sweeping vistas of the Camden Hills from this this luxurious, newly built, mountainside guest house situated on 14 acres of rolling pasture. Once a working dairy farm, this property includes the original post and beam barn, our new family home, and your private cottage with separate entrance and outdoor dining patio. We are centrally located just a short scenic drive to Camden, Rockport, Rockland & Belfast.Designed by a local architect specializing in passive haus, this Scandinavian style guest house combines the modernity of efficient systems, with a simplicity of style that makes it feel like it has always been a part of this old dairy farm. A 7’x7′ window and several 3’x7′ windows offer incredible views of 4 nearby mountain peaks as well as the renowned Camden Hills. At 500sf, the studio layout feels very comfortable for two people, or even a small family of three. It contains a fully appointed eat-in kitchen, a living room with seating for 4+ (and a queen size pull-out couch), as well as a sleeping area with a queen size bed. Two large closets with built in drawers and shelves, as well as a full-size washer/dryer located in the bathroom allow for a comfortable, long-term stay. While the guest house is just a stone’s throw from our family’s primary residence, the building is detached, has its own private entrance and outdoor patio space, as well as a designated garage parking space. We won’t intrude on your privacy, but we have hosted guests for years at other homes we have owned and we absolutely love getting to know so many interesting travelers. If you see us out on our deck, please come join us for a glass of wine, tell us about yourselves, and we’ll point you to all the great spots in the area! We are an active family of four, plus a dog and a cat, so you’ll see us coming and going, and playing outside. Our home is about 10 minutes from Camden & Rockport, 20 from Belfast, and 25 to Rockland. The drive to each town is absolutely gorgeous, and we can point you to all the hidden gems. After a long day out and about, this is the place to come back to rest – sit out on the patio by a fire, listen to the bobolinks and bluebirds sing, watch the moon rise over Mt. Megunticook, and then stargaze right from your living room sofa.It is heaven here and we can’t wait to share it with you.
