Description
Luxury Ski & Summer Condo with Private Sauna, #45.Contactless checkin steps from Killington Skiing/ Mountain Biking/ Adventure Center, refurbished ski-home condo with its own private sauna, hotel-style condo amenities, excellent common area (pool, jacuzzi, showers, etc) in idyllic central Vermont. Travel guide provided after booking! The resort includes an indoor pool, two hot tubs, pool table, treadmills, and is nestled at the base of the mountain with its own ski-home trail (or mountain bike-home in the summer).Luxury 3-bedroom 3-bathroom with private sauna, refurbished condo at Trail Creek Condominiums, granite bar opposite new kitchen. Classed by Killington Resort as “Class A” and one of the nicest units in the resort (many are “B” or “C” in the complex).NOTE: See the “House Manual” for lots of tips and a detailed travel guide of things to do in the area.IN-ROOM AMENITIES:* Free, powerful wireless internet: A WiFi router is dedicated to each condo. Password is “trailcreek” for all connections including neighboring condos that you can leverage as backups. (Feel free to power-cycle the WiFi router if there are any issues.)* Wood burning fireplace; free wood provided at two wood sheds around the main courtyard (help yourself). Fire starters should be provided in the unit near the fireplace, but you can also use simple techniques like on the “How to Build a Fireplace Fire” YouTube video.* Ski-home trail: Ski directly from the mountain to the condo (see the Killington ski map) or bike home along the back of The Grand hotel in the summer after downhill mountain biking.* Gas heating (only a small number of units in the resort have gas — will heat the condo in minutes)* Unit 45 sleeps 8.* New mattresses including the sleeper sofa mattress in the living room (sorry, no crib provided).* Coffee (12-cup drip) machine with filters provided (bring your own ground coffee).* All sheets, bedding, soaps, shampoo, towels provided, plus coffee filters (many), ground coffee (a little), sugar, non-dairy creamer, salt, pepper. Note: towels are not refreshed during your stay, but you can use the washer-dryer and/or borrow some towels from the pool area, which has extra towels. Do NOT leave the gray condo towels in the pool area – always return them to the condo.* Clothes washer & dryer with detergent provided.* Refurbished “class A” unit steps from the Pool/ Common Area (many other units require a trek through the snow)* Patio doors to rear deck and landscaped yards/ gardens.* Fully equipped refurbished kitchen with new gas stove, dishwasher, granite bar, cookware, cutlery/silverware, etc.* Refurbished bathroom(s) each with a hair dryer* Multiple TVs, cable, DVD player, HDMI inputs available (for Chromecast, etc). You also have an upgraded Cable system! Hi-def channels are available from channel 700+, but there is also a “Mic” button on the new rectangular Xfinity remote to press and HOLD to say a channel name or like “HBO” or “HBO on demand”, or something like “Netflix”, “Hulu”, “Prime Video” where you can login with your own account. Or say a specific show like “skiing” or “US Open tennis”.* TV Troubleshooting: Please try the INPUT setting on the native TV remote or side controls to switch between cable and HDMI inputs. Depending on which TV, either click INPUT, INPUT NUMBER or SOURCE or PROGRAM on the remote or on the side edge of the TV.INDOOR POOL/ AMENITIES BUILDING/ COMMON AREAS:* Two hot tubs* Swimming pool* Sauna (unit 45 also has its own private sauna; see instructions below)* Showers/ Changing Rooms with extra towels/ soap provided* Pool table* Arcade games* Cardio equipment (treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike)* Small charcoal BBQ grills scattered around the complex (charcoal not provided)TRAVEL:The address is Trail Creek Condominiums, 522 East Mountain Road, Unit 45, Killington, VT 05751. From New York City, I like to take 87 all the way to exit 20, then Route 149, then eventually Route 4 through Rutland to Killington. I find it to be a smooth, easy drive compared to all alternatives. Once at Killington, you will see Killington Road (AKA “The Killington Access Road”) that has all the main restaurants, night spots, and ski stores as you drive up toward the mountain. Just before the Snowshed base area, turn left onto East Mountain Road. Then Trail Creek is just a one-minute drive along East Mountain Road — it is about the 2nd driveway on the right after The Grand Hotel. After you turn right into the Trail Creek driveway:* For unit 45 (3 bedroom condo), take the first left within the parking lot and then take any parking spot near the end of the first building (at the 3rd stairway), about 8 parking spots down.Ultimately, feel free to park anywhere in the lot. There is no limit to the number of cars you may bring. Note that there is parking on either side of the parking lot outside units 45 (meaning that the side with the maintenance shed opposite unit 45 can also support a row of cars.ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING:There are multiple destination chargers in the upper parking lot of Snowshed base or the nearby golf club (which are 5 mins walk away from Trail Creek; see the official Tesla map). If you want to top up before heading up to Killington, use the Rutland Supercharger, but you can always just leave your Tesla plugged in overnight at a destination charger when needed. Unfortunately, I can’t vouch for non-Tesla chargers due to reliability concerns.CHECK-IN:* Standard check-in time is 5PM. However, the pool/ jacuzzi area (which includes showers/changing rooms) will be available to you with the same code from 10AM on your check-in day (i.e. much earlier) and until 10PM on the day you check out. Killington also has many happy hour options like The Lookout restaurant and bar.* Digital smart locks are installed. You will get an email with the passcode as part of your booking confirmation message. Wait for the beeps before turning the handle or try turning the handle upward if it doesn’t engage the first time. The code is your personal code; it will work during your stay only.* Trash and recycle bins are in the drawer opposite the sink. Please discard full garbage bags in the dumpsters behind the maintenance shed across the main parking lot (near the main road).* Thermostat for the living room is built into the gas heater itself (flip open the flap) and bedrooms have wall thermostats. If the gas room heater ever flashes “99” or “11” it means snow needs to be cleared away from the exhaust pipe outside (behind the wall immediately on the right as you exit the back door).* Sofa bed: Extra sheets and blankets are in the master bedroom closet, wrapped inside a pillowcase.* Back door: Please keep closed so that no garden voles sneak into the condo, even if you are not worried about insects.* In case they are helpful, you can also use the carts scattered around the grounds to move things around more easily (e.g. luggage, or trash when leaving).CHECK-OUT:* Standard check-out time is 11AM.* Please throw the last dirty dishes into the machine with a soap pellet (not the green liquid) and switch it on when you check-out. No need to put them away but please minimize dirty dishes left lying around.* Sofa bed: Please remove soiled sheets from the sofa bed mattress BUT leave the padded “mattress pad” on the mattress (or let me know if it is missing). All other soiled sheets for regular beds will be noticed by the cleaning crew, so nothing special needed there.* Filled garbage and recycling bags can be disposed of at the dumpsters behind the maintenance shed across the parking lot (opposite unit 45).* Please turn off the ceiling fan.* Standard check-out is 11am, but feel free to use the pool/ hot tub area and changing rooms after vacating the condo and loading the car with luggage, then skiing (or biking), to “in effect” extend your stay and get the benefit of a shower and a place to get changed or relax. You’ll have access until 10PM. The pool/ jacuzzi area is part of the same building as unit 45, at the opposite end, a short walk up the hill.See House Manual for more tips and a travel guide (available after you finish your booking).
