Description
My husband & I love to rent houses. We found it hard to always check the house rules and see our dogs would be able to come due to weight restrictions, only allowing one, can’t go on the furniture, you name it. We wanted to provide a fun and safe space for dogs and owners to rent! Explore all that Mid-Coast Maine has to offer! This water front property with an in ground pool offers private access and breath taking views of the Penobscot River. This estuary comes from the ocean and flows out with the mornings and in with the afternoons mirroring the oceans tides. Watch the sail boats, jetskis, fishing boats, and the occasional cruise ship pass by while enjoying a morning coffee or afternoon cocktail. Some things to note about the rental:The home is located on a main noisy road. The home is older and does have a lady bug problem. For the creative bunch we can welcome 10! — 2 in bedroom one, 2 in bedroom two, 4 in bedroom three (queen bed and futon), and 2 on an air mattress in the living room.*Air mattresses are not provided*Our driveway has the capacity for 4 cars packed. No garage access.Home has a sunny three acres. The backyard is two and a half acres with no fence. The pool area is the only fenced in area on the property. If an event is hosted without permission you will be asked to leave immediately without refund and an additional fee will be charged. All animals are welcome to the home. There is a $30 per pet fee. 2 pets = $60The pool is an 18×38 foot in ground pool.Home offers a ping pong table, corn hole boards, and fire pit.The pool is closed from mid September to early May.Outdoor furniture is put away from mid October to early May.No animals are allowed in the pool. There is a $500 fee for disrespecting this rule.*All persons using the swimming pool swim at their own risk.**All persons and animals visiting the river must visit/fish/swim/or float at their own risk.”Outdoor perimeters do have security cameras. There is also a concert venue with popular artists, civic arena, Hollywood casino, and so much more.In Searsport (20 minutes South) along with restaurants and shops our favorite place to visit is Sears Island. Sears Island offers 940 acres of conservation land with walking and biking trails throughout the island as well as the ability to walk all of the coastline of the island.Bucksport/ Prospect (15 minutes) offers shops and restaurants and ice cream for those hot summer days. This is also the home to Fort Knox and the Narrows Observatory. Fort Knox is a historic state park where you can walk through the entire fort that was established in the 1800’s and witness up close all the historic artillery / cannons. The Narrows Observatory is an elevator that takes you 446′ to the top of the Penobscot bridge to over see Fort Knox to the north and the picturesque Penobscot bay to the south.Belfast (25 minutes) an old ship building town offers museum’s, restaurants, bars, shops, and home to the harbor walk.Camden (45 minutes) home to the Camden snowbowl, the only ski resort in the east coast with view of the ocean. They also offer tobogganing and tubing. Also an old ship building town that has plentiful of restaurants, coffees shops, bars, art galleries, and local Maine shops. One of our favorite places to visit.Rockland (70 minutes) beautiful coast line bay and known as one of the largest shipping centers in the world for lobster. Walk to the historic break water light house! Restaurants, shopping, and more.Bar Harbor/Acadia (70 minutes) this is an absolute must see! Highly recommend searching on the internet for pictures to get the full idea. As you drive in you will see cruise ships making their way to the harbor. Walk through downtown bar harbor for Maine keepsake shops, iconic restaurants, homemade ice cream, and so much more. Jumping back in your vehicle for just a few minutes you can make your way to Acadia national park. Driving from destination to destination to walk around or make your way driving entirely through the state park. When you get out of your vehicle you will be taken back by the aqua blue water crashing up against the cliffs that you can walk about. There are walking trails, biking, and driving roads all throughout the park. This is truly a must see.ADDITIONAL INFO:-For those who snowmobile a trail head is available on ITS82.
