The smell of the oranges in the air was amazing!” – Matthew, ’23THE AREA:Not only is our beautiful home complete with everything you’ll need for a vacation you won’t forget, it’s also conveniently located to some amazing local restaurants and popular shopping areas, as well as all of Mesa’s top attractions.In the early 1890’s, thousands of acres in Mesa and the surrounding area were planted with oranges, lemons and grapefruit. In 1931, the Salt River Valley Citrus Fair was started right here in Mesa. (Later on it was combined with the Maricopa County Fair). During World War II, Falcon Field was established as a Military Airport to train American pilots and the British Royal Air Force.This property was built on one of these old orange groves that surrounded that airport. Note: Between this home and the airport there is still a large orange grove. We are a block away from what is now the small general aviation airport (Falcon Field) – which has its own air museum, the Commemorative Air Force Airbase, with amazing airplanes and history. They always have events happening as well.Across the street is a quaint little store and boutique called the Orange Patch (Too) where you can purchase local honey, oranges, pastries, and other delicious citrus delicacies from the products from the groves that still exist in the area.We have amazing weather in the winter and spring months, so there are always Golf tournaments, especially Phoenix’ famous Waste management tournament. There’s also lots of spring training as 5 MLB teams travel here as well. The outside features everything you need for rest and recreation, including a sparkling blue swimming pool and a beautiful outdoor dining area.There’s plenty of parking on the private driveway, which means you’re never more than a few steps from the front door.
