Modern Cabin on Old Rag — Dog-Friendly!Our place is close to the best mountain trails in Shenandoah National Park and numerous wineries. The cabin is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). Depending on the season, you can take advantage of our hot tub or private swimming hole. And regardless of the season, you’ll be able to enjoy the nature that surrounds you from our large screened-in porch — so you can experience all of the fresh air without any of the mosquitoes.Our cabin is in the shadow of Old Rag Mountain, the most popular hike in Shenandoah National Park. It’s a quick drive to the trailhead from our place. We’re also a short drive from another fantastic but lesser-known hike: White Oak Canyon. And we’re just a three-mile drive from DuCard Vineyards, which makes hyperlocal wines and has great musical entertainment on Saturdays. The nearby local institution, The Little Country Store, in Etlan can hook you up with pizza — and BBQ if you’re there the right day.There is limited cellular service in this part of the Shenandoah Valley. For those who must remain connected to the outside world, we offer Starlink satellite internet with Youtube TV and other streaming services. We do not have a landline, but you can make phone calls by enabling Wi-Fi calling on your cell phone before your trip. This is a free feature that most modern cell phones offer.We have Starlink Wi-Fi Internet, with average speeds of 30–200 Mbps ↓ and 10–35 Mbps ↑. It is good enough for streaming and Zoom and other video conferencing, although speeds can be sporadic at times.
