This locally historic cottage, adjacent to the iconic Smith’s Bridge, offers a perfect blend of modern luxury and nostalgic charm. Fully renovated in 2023, the cottage maintains its original quirky hardwood floors and incorporates tasteful touches like local maps and custom art crafted from real photo postcards from the town’s early 20th-century retreat days. A spacious 200 sq ft rooftop deck with seating for 10 overlooks Smith’s Bayou and private water access with private dock, with views also enjoyable from each bedroom and common area. The private, fenced backyard beckons with amenities including a fire pit, grill, deck with picnic table, corn hole and ladder toss, and a brand-new 7-person hot tub for ultimate relaxation. Inside, enjoy plenty of entertainment options, including a vintage shuffleboard, board games, puzzles, and an eclectic record collection for rainy days. Additional features include a well-equipped kitchen with a dining table for 8 plus countertop seating, five new queen sized memory foam mattresses, whole-house AC and heat, fans and blackout shades in each of the four bedrooms, and a large capacity washer and dryer. The house is equipped with 2.5 new bathrooms: one full bath with tub is en suite for downstairs bedroom (1 queen bed); one full bath with shower is en suite for upstairs large bedroom (2 queen beds) with additional hallways access for two smaller upstairs bedrooms (1 queen bed each); half bath is downstairs in common area.In front of the house, across W Spring Lake Road, is your private 20′ wide lake access, offering a serene escape with picturesque views of Smith’s Bayou. Comfortable seating on the patio or small sandy area invites you to enjoy a quiet morning cup of coffee while keeping an eye out for the bald eagles nesting across the Bayou, or to enjoy the bustle of boat traffic and boat flotillas on warm weekend days. The lot boasts deep-water access (New Dock installed in June 2024), perfect for swimming off the dock or docking your boat -bring your own or rent from a local marina. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring or use a boat. Water toys, including two new kayaks and inflatable tubes, noodles, and life jackets, are available for your use.LOCAL AREABe in the center of it all and enjoy everything the tri-cities—Grand Haven, Spring Lake, and Ferrysburg—have to offer without the usual traffic and congestion of US 104 and US 31. Hop onto the adjacent bike path to walk or bike to a nearby ice cream shop (A La Mode, 0.8 mi), restaurant (Pine Street Cafe for one of the best brunches around, 0.7 mi), camp store (Reef Convenience Store, 0.1 mi), or parks (Sunnyside Park with children’s playground, 0.2 mi; William Ferry Park for excellent boat watching, 0.9 mi), or venture slightly farther into Grand Haven (2 mi) or Spring Lake (1.5 mi) for breweries, restaurants, shopping, Lake Michigan beaches, and more.
