Description
This classic Maine farmhouse converted a post-and-beam barn structure for the one-of-a-kind kitchen, is such a cozy home for your mid-coast Maine vacation. Freshly painted inside, super-clean. New furniture, mattresses, linens. Two full bathrooms have been completely renovated, one has a large soaking tub waiting just for you!Incredible natural light bathes every room, giving multiple places to curl up with a book, play games, or simply relax after your days of adventure. The enclosed back porch is for that perfect cup of coffee or cocktail, and the semi-covered deck overlooks a private backyard with outdoor firepit. The reading room has a wonderful Vermont Castings woodstove, so comforting on a chilly night! The hand-made farmhouse table sits adjacent to the ample kitchen with a vintage Monson-Burmah slate sink, use the full kitchen to prepare meals at your pleasure. Use the five burner gas cooktop, convection wall oven or the new gas BBQ outside with Adirondack chairs ready for outdoor lounging. Washer and drier are on the bedroom level, very convenient. Air conditioning in each bedroom keeps the home comfortable. 58” TV is ready for your streaming services, great Wi-Fi if you need to Zoom or binge-watch. If you need to get some remote-work done, we have two dedicated work desks; one with a large monitor is in the fireplace room. Another desk and chair is upstairs in the primary bedroom. The stairs in homes of this era are slightly steep, but we recently upgraded the railing to proper height. For a 1920 house, it’s in great shape, but has the “character” original wood floors one would expect. The home is truly one of a kind, very inviting and comfortable. This home has high ceilings, unusual for this era: 9′-0″ ceilings in the first floor living areas in the original home, kitchen is closer to 8′ with the barn beams, and the ceilings are 8′-0” upstairs in the bedrooms (except where sloped at the edges – see pictures). This home sits on Pearl Street, a prime neighborhood and a five minute walk to downtown. Three parking spaces. What’s perfect about Camden is its central location, excellent foodie restaurants, access to multiple sailing adventures, and variety of outdoor activities. Plus the community is so nice! We request Saturday to Saturday rentals. Welcome to our home away from home, it is perfect for family vacations or getaways.
