Coastal Botanical garden, the largest in New England, is a 5 minute drive away featuring diverse plants, sculptures, activities. One company offers very popular island lobster bakes. Visit Monhegan Island via ferry. Enjoy tennis, kayaking to town & islands, and exploring coves. Swimming at the Juniper Point beach is fun with it’s tidal pool and float. Southport Island, across the bridge, also has a nice beach. Ocean Point, a 15 minute drive away, is known for it’s climbing rocks & sunsets. The Opera House offers entertainment and there are weekly bands at a few restaurants. Boothbay Harbor has several yacht clubs offering terrific sailing programs. Great golfing, including mini with wonderful shell museum. For youngsters & adults, visit the Boothbay Railway Village. There are many terrific and diverse dining opportunities including great seafood. Huge ice cream cones and gigantic cinnamon buns are to be found in town.
