Description
If you’re looking to spend some time in nature and experience the peace and tranquility that goes along with that, you’ve come to the right place. The Brookside Cabin offers a rustic and “off-grid” feel, while still providing modern amenities like heating and indoor plumbing. It’s literally the best of both worlds!The spaceEscape to the mountains with your family to our 2 bedroom/1 bathroom off-grid cabin. Spend the evening around the fire pit making s’mores, playing games around the large kitchen table, or cozied up inside by the wood-burning stove. When the weather is nice, roll up the garage door and enjoy the best kind of indoor/outdoor living. Pisgah National Forest is in our backyard and you’re only a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and access to hundreds of miles of hiking trails. You’re also only a quick drive to Asheville to enjoy all of the delicious food, quality brews, and unique people-watching you could ask for.The cabin has a comfortable king size bed and two sets of bunk beds, a fridge, a propane 4 burner stove, solar generator to turn on lights and charge cell phones, a water cooler for drinking and washing, a wood burning stove and propane heater as well. We also provide a rustic outdoor bathtub/shower during the warmer months. The outdoor fire pit is just off the deck of the cabin and is perfect for making s’mores or enjoying the stars at night.We provide basic cookware (for 8 people), a tea pot, coffee press and a couple 5 gallon jugs of water for you to drink and wash dishes in. Sheets and towels are also provided, as well as toilet paper for the bathroom.We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty-trained, well behaved dogs of any size are welcome! Dogs cannot be left in the cabin unattended. You are also responsible to pick up after your dog, specifically in common areas/foot paths.***PLEASE NOTE that while dogs are allowed, we do ask that they are not allowed on any of the beds in the cabin. If during cleaning, we discover that this request has not been honored – an additional “Pet Cleaning Fee” will be added to your reservation***Please keep in mind that while we keep our cabin clean and spray/treat for all nature’s creatures, we are in the middle of a wooded area and, therefore, they are not 100% preventable.FIREWOOD POLICY: No charge for firewood for inside heating. Wood for the campfire is available for $1 a piece, using the honor system. Payment details will be provided upon checkout.Guest accessREAD BEFORE YOU BOOK:The Brookside Cabin is located on un-maintained Forest Service Roads that can be steep and are unpaved. There are a few rough patches leading up to our gate. All types of cars can make it up our mountain, but before booking please take into consideration whether you are concerned about the abilities of your car, or are apprehensive of driving on steep mountain roads.If there is ice, snow or dangerous road conditions during the winter, we may have to close the roads to the cabin. Although it rarely snows here, be sure to check the weather and be prepared for a change in plans. We give full refunds if we have to cancel due to snow/ice. During the winter months we HIGHLY recommend 4×4 vehicles be driven to the cabin!There is a full bathroom inside the cabin as well as an outdoor shower that can be used during the Spring, Summer, and Fall months.The cabin is off grid, but roof-top Solar Panels do collect sun for electricity that is available in the cabin. There is limited cell service available, but does vary depending your provider. The clearest signal can be found outside, on the deck.We do provide all bed linens, pillows, and towels during your stay. You will find directions in the welcome manual on what to do with those at check out.All dogs of any type are welcome!
