The enormous kitchen island seats 4-6 and is great for food preparation. The seperate coffee bar, has an electric kettle, Kuerig coffee K Cup machine, & a K Cup / 12 cup pot combo coffee maker. The dining room comfortably seats 6 guests, too.FAMILY GATHERING AREAS:The stylish living room, has 2 comfy oversized sofas. The gas fire place exudes a calm, romantic ambiance while taking in the stellar views!Enjoy coffee or wine as you sprawl out in the Adirondack chairs, on the open air porch. This retreat is set up for games, movies, laughs, or snuggling up for a restful nap.BEDROOMS / BATHROOMSThe primary bedroom, has a comfortable queen size bed & a convenient private master bath, with a large shower. The 2nd bedroom, AKA the “Lighthouse Room,” has a queen size bed. The 3rd bedroom, has 2 very comfy twin beds. The latter 2 bedrooms, share a tub/shower bathroom.The southern prevailing blow off of the lake to cool the home, but ceiling fans and tower fans are provided for those random warmer nights, (no AC needed in this home).A washer/dryer is available, as well as a barbecue grill. Board games, griddle, pizza stone, ice cream maker, and many other personal touches have been added for your pleasure.PRIVATE BEACH:Take a few steps from the porch for a refreshing dip in the lake. If you fish, you’ll enjoy casting your line in the best fisheries known in the nation, Lake Champlain, of course! Water sports are popular, too. You can either bring your own craft, or contact the Hero’s Welcome for rentals, 802 372 4161. They’ll deliver crafts directley to the home. Hiking or biking along the quiet back roads, is where you’ll find beautiful wild flowers, native birds, butterflies, farm animals, and other intriguing sights.ACTIVITIES:GOLF- Tee off at Alburgh Links, & grab a great meal after your game!If you appreciate the outdoors and wildlife, the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge (check the website), is only a a few minutes away.If you’re looking for adventure, take a drive across the border to Montreal, Canada. The historic area of Montreal, or “Old Montreal,” offers rich culture & beautiful architecture. Montreal, is about an hour drive from the home. While you’re in Canada, take advantage of the distinctive shops and excellent dinning. You’ll need your passport!Burlington VT, is a fabulous city to see. Church St. Marketplace, is a fantastic way to spend a day shopping, dinning or “People Watching.” You’ll definitely want to experience the charm and culture of this unique city. Take an evening stroll along Burlington’s Streets. Usually, there’s live entertainment. Grab some ice cream at the famous Ben and Jerry’s legacy store. If you like beer, there are some interesting micro-breweries to visit. A few blocks from the marketplace, is the Burlington Waterfront Park. “Aaahhh,” some more gorgeous views of Lake Champlain! Definitelty catch the sunset over the glistening water & mountains there. The park offers food and music festivals. The Burlington Bike Path stretches along the park’s eastern border. Photo enthusiasts-this is the place to snap photos for Facebook and for your vacation album.The ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center, is both educational and fun for all ages. Next to the aquarium, is Vermont’s largest floating restaurant and cruise ship, the “Spirit of Ethan Allen.” Enjoy a great meal on the scenic cruise and learn the area history.There are so many wonderful shops and restaurants along the Waterfront, too. Take the 45 minute drive to Burlington, it is worth it!Besides Burlington, there’s other interesting attractions to see as well; Vermont Teddy Bear Company in Shelburne VT. While you’re in the vicinity, take the family to the Historic Shelburne Museum and see the live animal farm, and there’s cheese and bread making, too. Kids love it!The famous Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream factory, is located in Waterbury, VT.Map a route to see Vermont’s historic covered bridges. The back roads are indescribably beautiful.The NY State side of Lake Champlain, is a few minutes away. As you travel across U.S. Rt. 2, across the Rouse’s Point Bridge, look for the historical landmark – Fort Montgomery. This landmark is the sight of a fierce Revolutionary War battle fought for control of the Hudson River. Entering into Rouses Point, you will find a quaint little village, with a few shops; a trendy Lakeside Coffee Shop, a liquor store, boat rentals, restaurants & more. The Amtrak Railway station is also located in Rouses Point.Further out is Plattsburgh(Rt 87), NY. Visit the Champlain Centre North Mall & area restaurants. From NY or Grand Isle, treat the family to a Ferry ride. The NY side ferry connects to Grande Isle. From VT, take scenic route US-2, through Vermont’s Champlain Islands to the Ferry.Some of the best attractions are located in the town of Alburgh, & throughout the Champlain Island vicinity. The area has much to offer: Alburgh Dunes State Park, Burton Island State Park, Knight Island State Park & Grand Isle State Park. Many of the parks offer entertainment & other attractions. The “Islander,” a free local newspaper, provides dates & times of events throughout the islands. We provide a copy for you.Lake Champlain lighthouses, are historic landmarks: Isle La Motte Light House, Windmill Point Light House & the Burlington Breakwater North Lighthouse.If you like mountain hiking, Vermont has 2 major hiking trails along the Green Mountains. We provide brochures of hiking trails, & information about many.St. Anne’s Shrine, is a historical site where the French erected a Fort and Chapel on Isle La Motte. Saturday & Sunday services are held at the open church. Catch the majestic sunset there before you leave!Grab lawn chairs, kick back & listen to some local bands play music Thursday evenings, at South Hero’s Snow Farm Vineyard. No fee required, but please support the vineyard shop & purchase some great wine to sip, as you listen to the band. Wear comfortable shoes, & and kick up your dancing heels!There’s plenty of local restaurants in the Islands that serve delicious meals: North Hero; Shore Acres Inn, and the North Hero House. In South Hero; Blue Paddle Bistro. Ruthcliff Lodge; in Isle La Motte.Family and friends will enjoy taking an evening drive along St. Albans Bay, to view the brilliant sunsets there! Local creemees are best at Devyn’s, a few miles from the house on RT. 78!Vermont, is home to biking; road, touring, mountain and fat biking. The best trails & bicycling routes are highlighted online, “Vermont, Plan Your Visit.” (Free travel guide to organize actvities).The annual Champlain Valley Fair in August, is fun for all ages.
