Description
THE WAY LIFE SHOULD BE…Duck Duck Goose is a serene retreat that allows its guest to be completely ensconced in the traditional Maine way of life. This carriage house, tucked away in the Maine woods, sits on the edge of Duck Cove, overlooking Blue Hill Bay and all of its lovely islands. The privacy and beauty allow for quiet walks along the rocky coast beach, sitting on the private dock viewing a delightful sunrise or sunset, and viewing stars that can only be seen in the Maine skies. Located on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island allows for seclusion and reflection while still having the small towns within comfortable driving distance. Acadia National Park makes up the island of MDI and is a short drive away. The mountains to hike, roads to bike, and water to paddle or boat, make this location more special than most. This quaint carriage home was built in August 2012 and offers a comfortable, warm cottage feeling with all the makings of your own home. The first floor living space includes your entry, laundry, full bath, family room and bedroom with two double beds, not to mention three sets of lovely French doors never leaving you without a view of the water that lead out to a very large Maine style porch complete with rocking chairs and wicker furniture to enjoy.**The second floor invites you to its grand living/dining space with overhead loft and open kitchen, allowing all guests to be near. There are also two bedroom on this floor, one with queen bed and the other with 2 twins. The bathroom provides a soaking tub, a separate shower, a private loo and forest views. Every room has dimmed lighting, comfortable seating, water views and immaculate furnishings. The dining table hosts 8 all the while taking in the ocean breezes and the beautiful outdoors. Not one stone was left unturned. While relaxing in the warm comforts indoors, you will still want to find your way outdoors. Along the carriage home leading to the water is a lovely forest trail which includes a fireside retreat as well as ocean front dining. Enjoy your cocktails listening to the tide wash up on the rocks, or build a fire and grab your marshmallows to roast. Further enjoy a wonderful private dock where you can sunbathe, enjoy your morning coffee or put your boat into the water and go for a paddle. It’s hard to decide where you want to be, inside or out, but this Maine carriage home awaits your company. FREE WI-FI.** The pictures listed on this site show the portions of the porch that have been completed. There is a small section of the porch that has not been completed to the side of the house.***** A three car garage on the first floor of the cottage is an owner’s garage and is not accessible for renters use. If you desire to bring canoes or kayaks, they are safe and secure near the waters edge. If you wish to bring bicycles, they are safe within our private community and may be sheltered from in-climate weather under our back porch.
