Description
Our wonderful home can now be used 365 days a year after a 2021 winterization which added air conditioning and heat to the entire house. The home has been in the family since 1937. We are on a pretty lane which dead ends at the beach. The beach at Prouts Neck is one of the most private and beautiful in the world. Our home is very comfortable for parents and children or grandparents and family due to having 5 bedrooms, 4 are upstairs, as are two bathrooms, and one bedroom with en suite bath is downstairs. All baths are renovated, but retain their original charm. We also have a spacious and modern, but old fashioned style kitchen. Best of both worlds!! Check out the photos. Laundry machines are new.Our floors are painted an attractive blue and all bedrooms have new windows & screens. We have A/C, but it is rarely need because, after all, this is Maine, by the water!! There are several TVs. We have Wi-Fi. Tons of new and old books in the Dining room/library.We’re a 2 hour drive from Boston. There’s an airport in Portland. We’re around 15 minutes to Portland and the fabulous Exchange Street restaurants and shops. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to stay at ‘Prouts’. We often go to Freeport for shopping at L.L. Bean and all the other great shops, then come home and hit the beach to regain our strength. Also, for our of age guests, the brewery and distillery scene in Portland is incredible. The hustle and bustle of Old Orchard Beach, and the summerstock theatre in Ogunquit are wonderful fun. We also love going to Kennebunkport, to gallery hop. There are more activities than just the beach. The area is very popular for road cycling due to the great sea views and rolling terrain. In addition, the popular car-free Eastern Rail Trail connects Scarborough to Saco along marshes and woods. Kayaking the open water, or calm scenic estuaries of the Nonsuch River or Spurwink River are easy thanks to convenient access points. We will NOT contact you to see if you want to re-rent. Please make early arrangements, (we love return visitors), to ‘protect’ ‘your’ week(s). We often fill up for the next year; soon after labor day. You’ve been warned! Keywords: House, beach, Maine, Prouts Neck, Portland
