Description
Quaint & charming century-old brownstone near NYC******** OVERVIEW *******This historic brownstone is over 100 years old with its quaint and charming details and quirks. The apartment has an old style “railroad” layout, meaning the rooms are one after another. You will enter into the big bedroom, and walk through the other two bedrooms before arriving in the living room and kitchen. The historic wooden pocket doors separate the rooms. Yes, the doors will creak when you close them and there are no locks on each bedroom. You’re in a historic home with old hardwood floors and decor, while providing modern comfort including a renovated bathroom. Please note you’ll need to walk through the bedrooms to get to the living room and bathroom. The kitchen opens up to the backyard, where you can use our fire pit. The yard is shared with us as we can access it from our unit upstairs, though we don’t use it very often. We do have a friendly Labrador retriever who you may see once in a while :)******** PARKING *******We rent a parking spot at the lot next door. If you’d like parking, there’s a fee of $25 per 24 hours and you must let us know beforehand so we can reserve it for you. Please note ONLY standard sedans are permitted. The spot may or may not be available during your stay. Please include your car’s make and model in your request when reserving the spot and pay the fee directly from your reservation. Alternatively, you can try to find street parking and an overnight permit costs $5 from 11pm to 7am.- SUVs, trucks, and vans MUST park on the street and you’ll need to purchase parking permits yourself. Please check our guidebook on finding street parking. You can purchase an overnight parking permit (11pm-7am) at a pay station outside the town hall at 6808 Park Ave, just a block away, for $5. For parking during the day, please download the ParkMobile app on your phone beforehand so you can add timeWe highly recommend NOT bringing a car. It’s very easy to get around, both to NYC and within NJ. A one-way bus ticket to midtown Manhattan costs $3.50 and will take no more than half an hour from our door. Buses run 24 hours a day. It can be tough to find parking in this area. Driving to NYC involves paying a hefty toll at Lincoln Tunnel, battling terrible traffic in the tunnel and midtown Manhattan, and ultimately perform mission impossible of finding parking in the city. Leave your car at home if possible! ๐
