Description
Nestled in the Maine Highlands between Moosehead Lake and the Hundred-Mile Wilderness, Upper Wilson Pond is known for its seclusion, abundant wildlife, and calm waters. Situated steps from the southwest shore, Loon Lodge of Upper Wilson Pond is an inviting, off-the-grid, rustic retreat where the call of loons and lapping water can be heard both day and night. The camp is available to rent from the middle of May, shortly after the ice goes out, to mid-September, when fall is settling in.From Scammon Road on the ridge, the long gravel driveway winds down to the camp below. The driveway to the camp is shared by the owners who have an additional parking area and a separate boat dock on the property.Loon Lodge features an open-concept kitchen/living room, an indoor bathroom, and three bedrooms as well as a sleeping cabin, making it ideal for everything from hosting a large party to escaping for a personal retreat. Gravity-fed running water and gas-powered refrigerator, stove, lights, and water heater contribute to the rustic comfort of the Maine camp experience and more than compensate for the lack of electricity. Steps from the door, guests will find a dock for boating, fishing, and swimming.Loon Lodge’s close proximity to Greenville makes it an ideal base to explore the town and the larger Moosehead Lake region.
